SOURCE: 1998 ford expedition heater coil repair

Big Pain - Must remove entire dashboard. Drain the coolant Remove the Freakin' pain in the arse dash Open up the box that house the A/C system core and the Heater core Remove and inspect the blend door for cracks where it attaches to the actuator Check the blend door actuator then cut the metal lines on the top of the heater core off for easy removal From the engine compartment pull the heater core lines through the firewall for easy disconnect and that is it You are now ready to start the re-install process. One thing I recommend is while you have everything apart change the blend door actuator, especially if you see traces of where the coolant was leaking in the box. 9 out of 10 times the coolant leaked out through the actuator and it is just a matter of time before the electrical circuitry in the actuator quits working leaving you with no heat or only heat. When I replaced mine it was still working, but the electrical motor with the spiral gear was making a funny noise compared to the new one. SOURCE: need spark plug wiring diagram for 1965 ford

Try this. If the distributor is in the right way, the clips that hold the cap on should be just a hair off of 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. #1 is positioned at 1 o'clock, which is at the firewall side of the distributor. The firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8and is counterclockwise from #1. The passenger's side is cylinders 1-2-3-4, from the front of the car. The driver's side is 5-6-7-8 from the front. Hope this will help.

Have you checked your camshaft sensor? It's possible that the vane on the Synchronizer is misaligned.

Fire orer spark plog

There is no firing order as your truck does not use plug wires. It is a direct fire system with coil over plug design. There is a single coil for each plug you have.

I'm assuming you have the 4.6 liter engine since the 5.4 liter engine that also came in the Expedition has a coil on plug setup. Below is a picture that should help. Hope it does....

I have a 1998 Ford Expedition 5.4l, engine has an intermitent miss-fire and hesitation after reaching operating temperture. I have no CEL or stored codes. This problem is much worse when the A/C is on. I...

Your good
I would still remember, that all ford COP Coils have issues, from 1998 thru today
The Coolant Temp Sensor, should put it into closed loop, after it warms up---then the O2 Sensors can do their thing. That's one item
O2 Sensors slow to swing--maybe,need to test
Converter partially blocked-a bit of a stretch, but don't rule out.
I would buy one new coil, and walk it down from cyl to cyl, tough on that engine, but I put my money there

Where are the spark plugs located on a 1998 Ford expedition 5.4 liter

Hi, it should have a chrome fuel rail on each side. Right below that are the injectors. Just to the side are the coils , unplug the coils, remove the retainer screws, pull the coil streight up and the plugs are under them. There is a coil per plug.

I have problem whith my 1998 expedition the code PO354

if you are standing in front of the vehicle looking on the left side cyl #4 is the second one back from the front. Follow the wires to see where coil is. Or it may have coil on plug.
