Multitronic to manual conversion
SOURCE: Change the Front indicator on an Audi A4 2001
Take out the two Torx bolts on top of the headlight assembly. Then there is a third hidden bolt. Look through the holes in the top front of the fender, above and behind the headlight's turn signal portion (you'll probably need to shine a light in there) and you'll see the third bolt. Remove that and the headlight pulls straight forward and out. Then you can change the bulb.

I have owned various audi's over my lifetime and have always loved the quality and drive that they offer but when i bought my first auto which was multitronic i had nothing but big problems! costly problems which ended in a replacement gearbox and surfing the internet has brought to my attention that i aint the only one!

Go to ebay motors and buy a repair manual on cd ($15.00) this will have a handy electric component locator in the software that wiill show a schematic illustrations of relays locations.

Transmision oil for 2001 Audi A4 1.8 l turbo:
Manual gearbox (5 speed):
- Capacity = 2,25 liters
- Specification: Gear oil SAE 75 W 90 (synthetic oil)
Part number G 052 145 S2 (1 liter)
- To check oil level, unscrew oil filler plug placed on the left side of the gearbox in front and near of transmission axle, using an Allen 17 mm key.
- Check oil level with locally manufactured tool, e.g. a piece of angled wire.
- Specification: oil level 7 mm below bottom edge of oil filler hole.
- Install oil filler plug, tightening torque = 25 Nm.
