What does code number P0301 mean?

Code P0300 is a code that is generated when your engine has a misfire that is not related to only one cylinder. Sometimes this code will be set in addition to other codes such as P0301 which means that there is a misfire on cylinder 1 (cylinder 1 is the number one cylinder when looking at the firing order.

Nobody can answer correctly until you (or let someone) read OBD code.

"Check Engine Light flashing" means there is (or are) potential error on system.
(Flashing = Potential. maybe temporally, stays on = permanent. need to fix)
there are 100s of error codes.

When you go Autozone or some autoparts store maybe AAA, they can connect "OBD code reader" and read error code for you for free.
You can buy cheap code reader under $30 for now and future use.

Code may show like P0301, it means misfire on #1 cylinder for example.
sometimes just gas cap not tight closed show error code.
Reading OBD error code is starting point .

Double check the code number to see if it reads P0300 or P0301. 300 isn't a valid code number.

You have an engine cylinder misfiring, run a fault code test with a scanner to see what cylinder is misfiring. Misfire codes look like this P0301 is cylinder number (last digit of fault code) one and so on.

The fault code P0301 means "Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected", you can erase the code with related code reader, such as the Godiag T300+ , it has many kinds of functions, but the price is a little expensive.

I think this is a Coil problem. try replacing coil. If not, it is a MAF problem. 06 wire should still be fine now.

A code P0301 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

• Faulty spark plug or wire
• Faulty coil (pack)

• Burned exhaust valve
• Faulty catalytic converter(s)
• Running out of fuel
• Poor compression
• Defective computer

A P0301 code means that the the car's computer
has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #1.

What you do is turn the ignition to the "on" position and back to the "off" position 3 times. On the last "on/off" cycle, leave the key in "on". The check engine light will start flashing. The first group of flashes is the 1st number of the code. There will be a pause and then a 2nd set of flashes will be the 2nd number of the code. If there's more than one code, there will be a pause and then there will be another set of flashes for the next code and so on. A Haynes or Chilton's repair manual, available at any parts store, will tell you what the codes mean.
