SOURCE: fitting front fog lights

I just saw fog lights on e-bay for about $125 - $130 + shipping.
So the relays are there? I have not checked not car yet. I was told fogs need a "J relay" and a "white relay with green feet" under the driver's side knee bolster, and a "gray relay" at the fuses. Please let me know if you have part numbers in case I need to order them. (Maybe I will try a donor car from a salvage yard). Good luck.

SOURCE: Just had the oil changed in my 1998 S70. The

Sure, it could be a DIY project.

First a transmission filter & gasket kit (that is matched to your car) and about 6 or 8 quarts of the proper transmission fluid is purchased then the proper tools are collected, A jack and jack stands - a socket wrench to remove the pan bolts - a large enough (2 gallon or larger) catch pan to catch the old fluid - a gasket scraper, wire brush & shop rags to clean the pan and gasket surfaces - a shop light - a trans. funnel - eye protection, work gloves.

On level ground, the car is raised and secured, high enough to access the trans. pan. The pan is removed and drained. the filter assy. is replaced with the one supplied in kit. The pan and gasket surfaces are cleaned then reinstalled with the new gasket supplied and all the bolts are evenly torqued, not too tight. Then the car is returned to the level ground where the trans. fluid is added with funnel in to the trans. dip-stick tube (repeatedly checking fluid level with dip-stick) until the level reaches the full line. Peer under the car to check for any signs of leakage. With the parking brake applied and brake pedal pressed, the car is started and allowed to run while shifting through all the gears pausing about 5 to 10 seconds in each gear. Then it is returned to park and with the engine running recheck the fluid level and add fluid as needed to reach the full line, check again for leaks. after an aprox. 20 minute drive, recheck the fluid level and for any leaks.

If there is not an already existing flat, disk style magnet set in to the trans pan just under the filter assy. then it would be a good idea to install one to attract and trap any metal fragments that may be present in the circulating fluid.

A quality trans. filter kit will include a rubber gasket, try to avoid a cork gasket if possible.

Its a good idea to (after about100 miles) re-torque the pan bolts evenly, but not too tight where the gasket accessively bulges under the pressure.

Enter your trans. service date and milage, in your cars maintance record.

The spent fluid should be disguarded at a recycling center.

Good luck

SOURCE: 1998 Volvo S70 left turn signal does not work

That return spring mechanism, is in the 'airbag clockspring' or we call it a contact reel. this is a VERY expensive part. You can take your switch off of the steering column, there is a white button sticking out, you should be able to manipulate that up and down (for left and right movement) if you can verify that the switch cancels while you manually do it, its the clockspring, if you can not do it in one direction only, then its the switch

SOURCE: My window will not roll

If your switch is bad, there will be no function up or down, nor will your hear the faint click at the motor in the door.
If the motor is bad it usually rolls down, because it takes less effort, but will struggle or die out when going up.
If the regulator is bad, it'll usually affect the gear teeth on the motor, causing the window not to hold its position resulting in the window dropping down on its own.

Override power window switch

Try the switch on the pass side door. Otherwise you need to remove the drivers door panel, access the switch, print a wiring diagram and jump power to the window motor with a jumper wire.

How to turn off traction control in 99 s70 volvo that has automatic traction

On my 1998 S70 there is a rocker switch next to the sunroof and back window and mirror heat below the tachometer on the right hand side of the dashboard. If you have no other way, remove the fuse from traction control on the the main fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. There should be a guide to which fuse is which on the lid of the fuse box.

1999 Volvo S70 Driver's Side Window Stops Working

Actually yes, it is a known flaw with these model Volvo's. The backplate under the buttons in the master window switch is made of plastic. Over time it wears out and snaps. When it snaps, the windows will no longer go up or down as the contacts do not touch anymore.
Simple solution is to buy a new Master window switch. Should cost about $200.
