I have 5 series bmw car e39 it cranks but the engine wont start..what is the problem?anyone please give some advice..

Have you checked the spark and injector pulse

When were your spark plug wires last changed? And have you checked your ignition module? Crank shaft position sensor is another item to have checked.

Your fuel injected could be blocked

If you've checked the fuel system, then check the "spark" end of things

any of which would cause an engine to not start - but - there wasn't a good ... Did you check the cranck shaft pulley. It has a rubber inner and when this parish it does not turn and the sensor cant read the pulley

If it fires only occasionally, my first suspect would be the crank position sensor (aka pulse generator). Should be on the front of the engine mounted very near the toothed wheel on the crankshaft,
You should check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail while you are cranking to see if it is a fuel delivery problem.

check for a spark if no spark and engine cranks ok then renew the ignition module

check fuel n air filter if not then u need a shop sorry hard code

If you swapped 1 & 3 ignotion coils and the misfire didn't move. it probably would be a good idea to move the spark plugs to different cylinders and also the injectors. If you have the tools, perform a compression check to see if those cylinders might have low compression
