Why do i lose powersteering/acceleration on my 1998 Chevy Lumina?

I will be driving and i lose power steering/ acceleration. I will restart the car and it is fine. Can anyone help? I have been told my sensors are arching?

It should screw in to the pump and rack and pinion. If not you may have to buy a new pump.

Where do you put in the powersteering fluid?

should have a cap on the power steering pump with a little dipstick on it you pour the fluid in the hole you check the power steering levels its a pretty good sized cap and says powersteering or its a little dipstick then you just pour the fluid thru the dipstick housing.

1998 chevy lumina that the power shuts off when trying to start.

Battery terminals are loose or have corrosion on them. Check both main battery lead's at the battery and + where it is connected to the starter and - where it connect's to the body and engine.

I may not be the fuel pump, it will be an ign-module or cam/crank sensor defecting.

THIS HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING you are having a problem with the steering motor need to take in for service there have been some issues with these might get covered under warranty
