I show a 40A fuse 20 in the underhood fuse relay box that connects to 15A fuse 12 in the driver's underdash fuse/relay box (perhaps as a backup?)

Reverse gear signal input h2

Backup Lamps
The backup lamp request signal is sent from the powertrain control module (PCM) to the body control module (BCM) on the class 2 message system. This signal is based on the park neutral position (PNP) switch signal. The BCM supplies voltage on the backup lamp supply voltage circuit to the backup lamps and to the automatic day/night mirror. Voltage for the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit and backup lamp supply voltage circuit is from the TBC B fuse in the instrument panel fuse block directly through the BCM to these circuits. A short to ground on either of these circuits will open the fuse. The backup lamps are grounded at G401.
For trailer wiring, a separate backup lamp circuit is connected through the underhood fuse block from the TRLR B/U 10 A fuse to the trailer wiring harness.

I have a 2004 chevy surban that keeps blowing the ignition fuse what can cause this

You have a direct short to ground on that power feed circuit . You need to find a power distribution diagram to see what all gets is power from that fuse . Isolate the circuits till the fuse doesn't blow any more , then trace out that circuit that blows the fuse .

Which Ignition fuse ? Which fuse box is it in ? under hood , passenger compartment ?
IGN A
40A
Ignition Switch RUN, START, RUN/START/ACCY
IGN B
40A
Ignition Switch RUN/ACC, RUN/START
Could be ignition switch problem , Chevy has had problems with them .

2003 Honda odyssey fuse 13 under hood draw 40a I pulled fuse13 passenger side marked clock, backup out and draw went away . .radio is disconnected. goes dead overnight???

ok , i dont believe fuse 13 draws 40amps, sorry.

did you use an ammeter, and if not an ampclamp meter this is harder.
here is a page that shows all ways to find phantom drains.

http://www.fixkick.com/drain/drain.html

12x40 is near 500 watts, no way, if you had drain link that
there would be
1: huge light.
2: huge heat
3: or huge noise.
for sure. 500watts dont just fly way like a bird, not in this world.
no lie we can find, it, but first tell what tools you have.
really.

I have a 2003 mitsubishi lancer. Everytime I try to turn my key from the ignition to start my car my fuse 4 (40A) blows up I replaced it twice but the new fuse just keeps blowing up:/ what's going on?...

There is a major electrical fault that keeps blowing the fuse. The fuse protects that part of the electrical circuit, 40 amps is heavy electrical circuit, it it wasn't protected by a fuse it car could catch on fire.
You need to get an auto electrician or your Mitsubishi service center to locate the fault and repair.
If you had a wiring diagram for your car then you can trace the wiring from the 40A fuse to the various components to locate the wiring fault or component fault.

Battery will not stay charged in 2004 Honda Accord. Has to be jumped every few days, also slow cranking.

problem

Why do all the shops not repair anything? You
stop them or take the car back too soon?

Why wasn't the acc module checked for timing out?
They found a current load or a just a voltage drop on
#15 fuse !!!

Significant battery draw on my 2007 Honda Odyssey until I remove the fuse labeled "Back Up, ACC". 40A square type fuse. what circuit does this fuse protect?

Fuse #15 "BACK UP/ACC" (40 Amp) in the Underhood Fuse/Relay Box
protects the circuits leading to Fuse #7 "BACKUP" (7.5 Amp) in the Underhood
Fuse/Relay Box and also fuses (#5 "RADIO" (10 Amp), #6 "INTR LIGHT" (7.5 Amp),
#7 "BACK UP" (7.5 Amp), #8 "not used", and #9 "FR ACC SOCKET (10 Amp)
in the Driver's Fuse/Relay Box.
To further narrow down the source of your draw, pull each of these fuses one at a time.
No, that was not a "typo" There are 2 fuses marked "BACK UP" and are both 7.5 Amp and one is
in the Underhood Fuse/Relay Box and the other is in the Driver's Fuse/Relay Box. (I checked this 3 times just to make sure.)

Door locks and interior lights out keeps blowing fuses

there is a short in that circuit. you don't need expensive tools or electrical testers, or superior auto knowledge to diagnose. Just a few fuses and hopefully a wiring diagram if needed. One fuse or more than one? you may have to use a wiring diagram to determine what all is in a shorted circuit. unplug all components in the faulty circuit. put in a good fuse. then connect one component at a time until the fuse blows. replace that component. repeat for other short circuits. if it is two separate circuits and the above diagnostics fail, look for somewhere the two circuits could unintentionally meet. like at the back of the fusebox panel or at the wiring harness. remember, corrosion could be the bridge between two circuits that should be separate.

Yes the interior lights are always hot circuits, the radio keep alive memory most likely runs off this same circuit. The fuse should be marked courtesy lights.
