1999 dodge intrepid, battery light on, replaced battery and engine computer, light still on. Is there a reset? What else can cause this dash light to come on?

check your battery, make sure its fully charged cause it sounds like the battery is dead

check your fuel pump relay, and the fuses, and other relays, they are normally, located in a black box on the drivers side , under the hood on your car.

p1684 just means the battery has been disconnected. Check the tightness of the battery terminals. make sure the terminals are free of corrosion..

When you say " wont start", are you saying the engine wont turn when turning the ignition key or the engine will turn over but not run?

did you have the alternator tested on the car? the alternator may be good but the wiring to it may have a fault, have some one do a charging test on the car, if it still shows that the it is charging have them do an AC current test it could be that the diode is out in the alternator which would cause the light to come on and also the battery to drain when the engine is off. If it is not charging on the car suspect the plug end on the alternator ( we see them fail alot ). there is also a charge fuse might check it. The charging is controlled by the BCM ( body control module). If no charge and plug and wiring are good , fuse is good , suspect BCM......GOOD LUCK

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable usually works for issues like if your check engine light is stuck on.

the1684 is letting you know battery was recently disconnected. 0340 is camshaft position circut failure.

take to autozone and have them check the engine light code to start it's free

battery is dead again let it charge longer then try it.
clean your cables and then have the alt and battery checked if they are both good then something is staying on like mine my brake lights stayed on once and killed the battery

Reach in under the dash, under the steering wheel and pull the cable end off the gas peddle. Open the hood, disconnect the cable end off the throttle body, then haul the cable through the firewall from the engine side. Replace by doing the reverse.

check cables to battery.if battery is 5years or older replace.
a bad ground cable and a weak battery will cause the starter to do as stated.
