I would like to know what is the correct ecm/pcm for a 2006 Mazda 3 with NO ABS.

Recently I swapped the engine, transmission and steering column because I blew my 2004 2.3 engine. I put a 2006 2.3 engine, but the PCM continues to look for the ABS system that my 2004 doesn't have. Is there a 2006 2.3 Manual transmission PCM without the ABS system. Nobody, even the dealers seem to know. Please help. Thanks

SOURCE: ABS light on, flashing 4wd 2005 Mazda Tribute

Even though your anit-lock brake system light comes on, dosen't mean your brakes will not work. All the ABS does, when applying the breaks, it compensates breaking power like pulsating your pads off and on the rotor in which without ABS your doing the same thing manually by pressing n releasing the brake pedal. And usually half the time it's a sensor that goes out and can be checked at your local autozone or auto parts store where they can plug into your car and will display a code that pertains to your ABS problem. Hope this helps.

1998 Dodge Ram 360 swap from an automatic to a manual truck

Swapping the transmission in a vehicle can be a complex and time-consuming task, especially if you are changing from an automatic to a manual transmission. Here are a few things to consider when performing this swap on a 1998 Dodge Ram with a 360 engine:
  1. Make sure you have all the necessary parts and tools for the swap, including a manual transmission, a flywheel, a clutch, a pedal assembly, and any other components that may be required.
  2. Follow a reliable repair manual or instructional guide for step-by-step instructions on how to complete the swap. It is important to follow the procedures carefully to ensure that the swap is done safely and correctly.
  3. Have a professional mechanic check and adjust the transmission linkage, drivetrain, and other components after the swap to ensure that everything is functioning properly.
  4. Consider updating the engine control module (ECM) or other related components to ensure that they are compatible with the manual transmission.

Have a 2006 pontiac torrent no eps have power and ground fuse is not blown

eps ???? spell it out electric power steering (EPS) system ? The system uses the body control module (BCM), power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, EPS motor, serial data bus, and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center to perform the system functions. The PSCM, torque sensor, nor the EPS motor are serviced separately from each other or from the steering column. Ant EPS components diagnosed to be malfunctioning requires replacement of the steering column assembly, also known as the EPS assembly.
The scan tool won't communicate with what ? The power steering control module , BCM or PCM/ECM .

Can I swap out the l4 engine in my 2001 Kia optima LX with a 2006 or newer l4 to keep from having to replace the timing belt every 60000 miles?

It may be possible, but not very easy. Although both engines are 2.4L DOHC, the gap in years will most likely mean that there will be substantial changes to the emissions and engine control electronics as well as the transmission(s). Today's engines and transmissions work together as a unit, and the ECM/PCM is programmed for optimal performance. Using a newer engine with the older transmission and PCM unit would at a minimum required reprogramming of the ECM. It would very likely require substantial changes to the wiring harness.

I have a 1998 toyota corolla with a trouble code p0500- vehicle speed sensor malfunction- I recently replaced my engine with a used engine, that is still under warranty, is this something to do with the...

Hi.

In ordinary conditions the engine replacement should not result in VSS error. TI could not find any bulletin about ECM (the car main computer) reprogramming after engine swap but the VSS signal passes through two modules, the ABS and the ECM. If you have replaced the engine you may need to re-flash or re-program the ECM . There are a couple of forums where users complain about the same problem. The job can be done at the dealer place.

Before reprogramming the ECM do the regular troubleshooting for P0500. The problem could have been already there before the engine swap, the VSS or the VSS wiring may also have been damaged in engine replacement operations. Check the VSS mounted on transmission, Ohms are between 500 and 700, check also volt output on bridge. Check VSS wiring to ABS module and ECU and check the two-wire connector to VSS (check volts) . Check ECU connector. Check PNP switch.

I have a 99 Mazda Millenia and just replaced the engine and now they say diagnostic code 720 is showing up. They said it is an undocumented code indicating transmission issue. I should drive it 200 miles...

have the fault codes read again somewhere else
there is a code p 0720 which refers to output shaft speed (OSS) sensor---circuit malfunction====causes --wiring---OSS sensor---ECM/TCM
It is a transmission fault but after an engine swap , I would be suspecting harness connection not done properly , cut wire especially if the transmission was performing correctly before the swap
Taking it to a professional transmission shop is good advice , get the quote and failure description and if it can be directly related to the engine swap have that shop pay the bill for the repairs
