Blower Motor Grounding Point

My blower motor would work intermittently then finally quit. When it worked, it worked on all settings. When I bench-tested it, there wasn't any response. I replaced it, and it still didn't work. The resistor was rusted pretty bad, so I replaced that too. Still doesn't work. I've been using a test light and multimeter and found out that there's no ground getting to the blower motor. The wiring schematic says G200 for ground. Where is that exactly? Please help.

My diagram is showing that the ground goes through the instrument cluster not G200. If you unplug connector 2 at the heater control there should be power on the first 4 wires with the key on. The 5th wire is the G200 ground. If there is power plug it back in and see if there is power at the blue with pink wire on connector 1 with the connector plugged in. If there is power there than there is an issue with that wire or in the cluster. it is also possible that the TIPM or the cluster detected a problem with the HVAC and decided to shut it down. You would need a scan tool to see if this is the case.

The rear AC goes on spurts of working fine. Then nothing blows at all. When it works, it blows cold. But intermittently, it will quit working altogether. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the rear blower motor is acting up. It could be a blower resistor/blower motor or wiring connections. The rear paneling will have to be disassembled for inspection and testing of the blower motor assembly. When it doesn't work, you can try hitting the paneling with your fist in the area of the blower motor to see if it will come back on.

Blower worked intermittently on 5 hit a bump on/off replaced resistor and pig tail but blower still doesn't work?? what do I need to check now?? grounding??

If blower motor resistor was replaced, make sure all connections are tight and well plugged in. I would supply direct powerr and ground to the blower motor to see if it works. It still sounds like a resistor issue

Heater fan not operating

Most of the time when a heater blower quits working it is the blower switch that fails rather than the motor. Blower switch can be accessed in the dash panel.

I have a 2000 Saturn LW2 V6 3.0. My heater quit working 2 years ago so I did my hw and found it to be the blower motor resistor. Well, the heater quit again with the same symptoms as...

With the vehicle running and the blower switch set to high and the blower motor not working tap the bottom of the blower motor with the handle end of a screwdriver. If the blower starts to work it is bad. Usually the brushes are worn out and tapping the blower wiggles them just enough to make contact with the commutator and the blower will work.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado - Fan not coming on. When I turn the heater/ac blower fan on, fan does not work. Prior to completely going out, fan would quit working intermittently. Is this a fuse problem? ...

Chk for power at the blower motor electrical connector. If no voltage, check the blower motor resistor, its within the blower motor vent (this controls power to the blower motor). Also, in theses vehicles water may have damaged the blower motor itself. Inspect the blower motor for proper function.

The blower doesnt work for the ac or heat . I checked the fuses and replaced the blower with a new one. Could it be the control pannel? What else might it be

All right! I am glad I found you! This is because I need to pay this forward! I have a 2005 pacifica and my blower motor started failing intermittently. It would work for a while and then quit. Then it would quit for long periods of time and randomly start working again. This nearly killed us in the rain a couple of times because no blower motor equals no defroster, equals we had to keep wiping the windshield to see. I am a teacher and couldn't afford this repair right away. I was told it was a resistor, fuse...blah blah blah.
In my case the problem was the blower motor itself. I learned this after cutting the power wires directly to the blower motor and applying 12 V DC to it. No movement. The bushings, or brushes or something had gotten dirty over time and stopped working.
This is about a 2 hour fix. You can take out the glovebox of your pacifica by opening it (taking the stuff out of course) and then squeezing in the sides. The blower motor should be easy to access at this point. If I recall you will need a hex screwdriver set, or small socket set. There were some places that were small enough that you need to use a screwdriver to put the hex bits in to remove the screws.
Some advice.
A new blower motor from the dealer: $160 A new blower motor from auto parts chain $100 A used blower motor from a local junkyard $25
My grandpa taught me that all cars run on used parts. Finally, here is a step by step of the removal and installation process:
http://tinyurl.com/2005PacificaBlower
To make sure that it is the blower motor, you will want to disconnect the battery cables, and cut the power wires (you can easily splice them back together later). Apply 12 V DC and if the fan doesn't spin, you know that this is your problem for sure.
Also, when you do this, replace your cabin air filter. This is what recirculates the air in the car and somehow the cover plate got kicked off of mine and it had dirt and even leaves in it! I suspect that this was the thing that killed my blower motor. I want to say they were like 8 to 10 bucks at the auto parts place.
Good luck and enjoy the cold A/C that has been trapped in your car!
