I have a renault traffic 2009 van 2.0 115dci. problem is when accelerating van jerking and cutting out no fault codes but red stop light comes on and engine management light comes on.

Sounds like a misfire. But honestly it could be anything. If the check engine light is on that could point you in the right direction

Check what rpm's you had when the engine cut out as you probably exceeded max rpm's setting for safe engine / rear box operation as set by sensors in the ECM

The light and the word stop should be sending you a clear message . The engine hard starting and sluggish is also sending a message and if you do not heed the message and have the fault codes read and the problem fixed then the next message may be replace the engine or gear box . The light is there --not to be an annoyance ---but to inform you that something drastic is going wrong and it needs urgent attention.

It can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its clogged filters causing there.

i've got trafic 100dci 2001 year-had poor exceleration upto 2000 revs then turbo cut in,also at speed-mainly uphill the power would start to pulse(like small jerks forward)until it ran out of steam-80ish,changed egr valve-didn't fix it! then tested air flow meter and found figures incorrect,so replaced,also tested the tubo rod(down the back of the engine -visible with air filter housing removed)this was very stiff,so used wd40 to clean then spray oil to lube and worked the rod backward and forward until it moved freely.put all back together and that was it-back to normal-hooray!! have to point out that the van will not rev past 3700 revs when it is loaded-it has a load sensor,unloaded or partly loaded it will rev to I think about 4100 revs(don't quote me on that though) do hope this will help whoever and God bless

hi had same problem on a 04 reanult trafic 100dci changed the EGR valve but no success then changed the fuel filter and new seals and its been fine ever since hope this helps

my trafic did the same.no power pulling away until the turbo kicked in and it turned out to be the airflow meter.Hope this helps as it cured mine.Plus non of them rev past 3800 revs its normal.

the injection may need to be reprogramed. take it to a Renault dealer
