SOURCE: jeep codes location of unit

Got me a complete manual for 199 jeep factory model and found location of each individual unit in question. Manual gives u possible solution to each code and repair and or replace. As a mechanic myself testing, trouble shooting and repair was not that difficult. Shift solenoid was very difficult to get to. Located under the head lamp passenger side.

SOURCE: 2001 Buick Century shift solenoid

It is in the side cover on the valve body. The transmission needs to be removed to access the solenoids.

IT all depends on the labor rate of the shop you take it to,But the solenoid cost about 50-75 dollars and the side cover of the trans has to come off you will need a new gasket and about 4-5 qts of trans fluid. It takes me about 3 hours to complete this job if everything goes ok

SOURCE: have code p2716 pressure control d, will need help

Hello.

Before you start looking at replacing solenoids, here is something that you need to know:

Toyota has a technical service bulletin regarding this issue.

Changing the solenoids will NOT rectify your situation. Replacing the ECU in the car is what you need to do. The logic/programming is the problem, not the solenoids.

The good news is this: The ECU is covered, under the factory warranty! It will be replaced for free, if your car has less than 80,000 miles on it.

If you have more miles than 80K, call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 800-331-4331; an analyst may be able to help offset your costs; they do this quite frequently.

This should get you fixed up. Thanks for visiting FixYa!

''04 Buick LaSabre, Transmission rough shifting. Are pressure control solenoid and shift solenoids internal to transmission?

The solenoids are internal ! But if it were a solenoid problem the check engine light would come on . There are a lot of variables involved in the shifting of electroniclly controlled transmissions , it's all part of the engine management strategy programmed into the PCM - engine computer . I would take and have it checked before guessing about parts problems . A good qualified repair shop would hook up a professional grade diagnostic tool and road test the vehicle . With-in a few miles they would know for certain .

HOW TO GET TO THE ECP VALVE ON A 2000 BUICK LASABRE

Do you mean "PCV"? If so, it is located under the manifold pressure sensor. Look for the blck 4-wire connector on top of the engine on passenger side. Unplug the connector form the sensor. Rotate the base on which the pressure sensor is mounted about 1/8th of a turn counter-clockwise, if I remember correctly. It will unclip and reveal a coiled spring and, beneath that, the PCV.

Take great care as the plastic base for the pressure sensor is brittle and breaks easily.
