SOURCE: ticking noise coming from car when cold

are they hydraulic tappets?? not adjustable but a mechaniics bodge if they are hydraulic ,,,,put a 5 sec squeeze of washing up liquid into oil filler and half a litre of diesel -----run for about 2/3 days without doing any boy racer stuff ,,,drain oil and refill with a diesel grade oil like shell rotella or anything cheap off of the supermarket shelf and refill with this and add some more washing up liquid .run for a couple of weeks then change oil and filter .and refill with a cheap diesel/petrol oil from supermarket and change oil every 6000kms or 5000miles or a least once a year more frequent if low mileage .this should free off the build up of gum in the hydraulic tappets without stripping the engine.expensive oil is well known for causing this as poly methyl methacrylate which is used to hold the oil viscosity has a nasty habit when full of crud from not changing oil regulary to clag up.moral of story change oil often but a filter every third oil change

SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Accent new rear brake noise

jack up the rear wheel and spin it, do this with the other wheels chocked for safety, and listen for any rubbing sound, do this with both rear wheels and if one is bad then remove the drum again to check if the retainer has come off of the brake lining, hope this helps you.

SOURCE: 2001 hyundai accent 1.5 liter SOHC 12v engine.

With regrets, Not likely, pull the vlave cover and observe the height of the valves, if it is bent it should be not quite as tall as the rest.

SOURCE: 2002 hyundai santa fe - engine noise ticking

The cam chains have developed slack and are slapping on the cam chain guides which helps prevent the cam chains from popping off in case of slack developing . The chain guides are made of some type of plastic material and develop significant wear.

1971 650 tiger making noise when in gear

First thing to do is check your oil levels. I'm not sure if that bike uses a separate transmission oil. Low oil can cause strange noises when in gear.
Can you be more specific about the noise? Is it a metal against metal sound? Is it a rattle or a smooth noise? Does it disappear between gear changes, when you pull in the clutch?
Check the easy stuff first. You don't need tools fo these checks. If it has a centre stand raise it onto that. Get a helper to gently put some weight on the back of the bike to raise the front wheel off the ground. Spin the front wheel by hand and listen. You should only be able to hear a very quiet gritty noise from the front brake. Spin the front wheel a bit faster and check it's spinning straight and true.
Get your helper to move to the front of the bike to raise the rear wheel off the ground. Put the bike in neutral, spin the rear wheel and listen. There should be two different, quiet noises. A gritty one like the front wheel and a quiet rattle as the chain moves through the rear wheel sprocket and transmission sprocket. Put the bike in gear and pull in the clutch so the wheel will turn. Spin the wheel again and listen to see if the noises change. Lastly spin the wheel faster and check it's lined up and spinning straight and true.

Sounds like the flywheel is rubbing when running pulled transmission and it looks like the flywheel is rubbing on stater side

Does your starter fully retract when disengaging? Your problem may be one of geometry if the starter is slightly out of position it will rub on the flywheel, or the Bendix gear isn't fully retracting.Try hitting the starter with a mallet to see if the Bendix gear pops back out fully after you start your car.

2000 hyundai accent timing belt broke. absolutely no noise when belt broke

No, you won't hear it, it will happen same instant as the belt breaking.
Try to find a head from a low mileage unit, if at all possible. Pull your head off first, and check the top of pistons for damage. If the pistons and lower end are alright-spin it around by hand several times and listen for noise- then go for the used head.

2002 galant no start whining noise from starter

Sounds like a bad starter. Just an idea It is a poor idea to let someone work on your car if that person does not know what they are doing. My thought is your friend ran the starter a lot and burnt something out.

My left front of my car is making a howling noise however we checked the bearings on both tires and they are fine. what else could it be?

it could be a tire making the noise.try running with the spare tire on and see if noise goes away.
could also be the warning gages on the brakes telling you that you need new brake pads
this is a small leaf of metal that will rub on brake disk when pads get to low
you will hear it if thats what it is
