If you have done all the usual tune up stuff, check to see if holding the gas down a little helps. If so, could be a dirty/sticking idle air control valve. Other possibility is bad coolant temp sensor telling the ECU engine is warm when it is not.

SOURCE: I have a 2006 nissan altima that misses while driving

Misses that occur only under load are typically spark related. Engines typically need about 8000 to 12000 volts of spark energy to idle, but under load and acceleration, they can require as many as 30,000 volts. Weak coils frquently can still make 10-15000 volts, enough for light cruising and idling, but insufficient for load. Further, a defective boot or carbon tracked sprak plug may fire normally at idle and cruise, but "arc" down a black carbon track in the plug porcelin under load. You should take the car to someone who has the equipment to propely examine misfires. Or if you really feel the need to do it yourself, you could try pulling all spark plugs one at a time( assuming you dont have a scantool or trouble code data to point you to a specific cylinder) and visually inspecting them. They should ALL be clean and dry and white all around. If you see any black lines or marks in the porcelin of any spark plug, replace both that plug, and the wire or coil boot attatched to it. If you dont see any dirty or wet or oil soaked plugs, you likely have a weak coil that will require scan, scope, or load testing to isolate. Most professional shops have the equipment to do this.

The name of the sensor is call Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).

It's on the body of the transmission and connected via wire INTO the firewall.

All the fuses and relays are listed here. Looks like they may be controlled by the Body Control Module?

My 2006 Nissan Altima started skipping or a slight buck today and has off and off for a few weeks, but today when it did that, the engine light came on. The mechanic checked it and said it was the crank...

My 2006 Altima used to be HORRIBLE. The engine would sometimes be hard to start. Bucked like crazy. It would stall randomly if I was stopped or driving slowly (stopping or going for a light, while slowing down during turns). After a couple calls, over a period of months, checking for recalls they finally said there was a recall on the entire engine. Thank goodness my car was still under its 100K miles. Nissan fixed it, as they should. They also claimed the crank sensors needed to be replaced & that my engine mount was cracked. We just paid for all that b/c we were finally glad to have the engine problem resolved free of charge. Loooong story short, have your local dealer check for recalls.

Why does shifer get stuck on park?? And now on reverse too. 2006 Nissan Altima. Help please!

I fixed a problem like this about ten years ago, but I don't remember what I did. I do remember that the problem was under the console between the bucket seats. There is an ajustment that may have loosened up in your case, that would have to be tightened up. I probably don't remember because it was so easy. It's usually hard projects that I remember because they torture me so much. GOOD LUCK.
