A 2008 Trailblazer after market Sony Radio with wire harness that came out of a 2005 Trailblazer that doesn't have any sound.

I had a 2005 Trailblazer that had a After Market Radio in it. I took the radio to put in my 2008 and there isn't any sound. Are the wire harnesses different? It hooked up to everything, there just isn't any sound.

SOURCE: trying to hook up after

I had the same issue. You have to run the red power wire to a suitable 10 amp fuse in the fuse panel. Just remember that when you look for fuses, you connect to one that is not "hot" at all times. Meaning connect to one that operates off the key only, and not that battery. Good luck

This usually doesn't work the way you think it does. The factory radio are controlled and monitored by the Body Control Module. Things like warning chimes and the clicker for the turn signals are supplied by the BCM and factory amplifier and played via the radio. You are likely to get strange issues. You can try an integration harness for fun.

Installing a Dual XDVD276 radio in a 2005 Chevy Impala without the factory end of the wiring harness.

You will need to splice the wires as it will be hard to find the right connector to attach to the harness wires. Use the wiring diagram for the car (get it at Alldatadiy.com) and the one that came with the Dual unit to figure out which wires connect to each other.

Trying to hook up after market radio inside my 2005 chevrolet impala using a wire harness but it will not come on. I had another radio installed before this one but someone broke in my car and stole it. I...

I'm not a stereo person, I'm a wire chaser. I looked at wiring for your sound system w/o amplifier in database. Did you check radio fuse for voltage, use a test light, hot all the time. The radio also has to have ground, ground wires are usually black. Did the after market radio come with instructions? Some radios have an anti-theft lock out, if that is the problem I can't help you. Your radio manufacturer may have a web site where you can ask questions? Just to add, the12volt.com
has installer info. It's interesting.
