SOURCE: crown victoria window motor replacement

remove the door panel. be very careful and make sure you get all the screws out. Should be maybe 2 on the bottom half of the door, and 2 on the top half. one is right by the handle, which is the one i forgot the first time i took my door pannel off. carefully pull the panel upward, and outward at the same time. Once the panel is off, disconnect the controls, and remove the light from the panel. Remove the plastic cover very carefully, it will tear, just keeps noise, and air, and the elements out.
There will be 3 screws, they are torx bolts, once you pull those 3 out. They are located middle of the door towards the right side. The motor will drop down a little bit. disconnect the wires for the motor, and wiggle the motor off of the regulator. the crown vics have a decent size hole to get into the door panel, you can also remove the speaker if that would help you do it. other than that, it just lining up the new motor into the car, pushing it into the regulator, and putting the 3 bolts in, make sure they are snug, and not cross threaded. put everything back together, and your set.

SOURCE: how do i change the water pump on my 1995 crown victoria and do i need to change the by hose with it?

This set of instructions from Ford should be of help

I would change the bypass hose as it is so much easier to do it while you already have it apart.

SOURCE: 2003 Ford Crown Victoria misfires when

I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON SEVERAL CROWN VICS I HAVE WORKED ON ,& SOME OF THEM A SET OF PLUGS STOPPED IT,AND SOME OF THEM HAD TO HAVE 1 OR MORE COIL PACKS REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM THAT I FOUND THAT IF PLUGS & ALL COIL PACKS HAD BEEN REPLACED,AND IT WAS STILL IN THE IGNITION, IS THE WIRES GOING INTO THE PLUG ON THE COILPACK UNDER THE INTAKE TUBE, IF YOU REMOVE THE INTAKE TUBE,LOOK CLOSE AT THE WIRES FOR ANY BARE SPOTS,& LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE INTAKR TUBE IF YOU CAN SEE WHERE IT HAS RUBBED IT,IT IS ALMOST A GIVEN THERE IS A BARE SPOT OR CRACKED INSOLATION ON THE WIRE, ENOUGH TO CAUSE A MISFIRE, (FYI) IT TOOK ME MANY TIMES OF INSPECTING BEFORE I LOOKED CLOSE ENOUGH TO SEE THE BARE SPOTS, BUT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS STRIP THE HARD PLASTIC AROUND THE WIRES BACK ENOUGH TILL YOU SEE GOOD CLEAN LOOKING WIRE,THEN SEPERATE THE WIRES AND IF YOU HAVE LIQUID ELECTICAL TAPE USE THAT AND THEN TAPE THEM WITH ROLL ELECTRICAL TAPE ,BUT IF YOU TAPE THEM UP GOOD SO WHEN THE WIRE IS BENT ENOUGH FOR THE INTAKE TUBE TO CLEAR ,& YOU CANNOT SEE THE WIRES GOING IN TO THE PLUG WITH A ROLL OF ELECTRICAL TAPE THAT WILL WORK TOO, I HOPE THIS TRICK WILL WORK AS GOOD FOR YOU AS HAS ME ON DOZENS OF CROWN VICS, ESPECIALLY P71 POLICE CARS.

How do I replace the EGR hose on a 1996 Crown Victoria?

this is easy but depends if its the vacuum hose or the hoses to pressure sensor, the vacuum hose uses vacuum hose and you cut to size but if it for the sensor then you will need high heat hose so it will not burn, remove the broken hose and take it to a auto parts store and they will match it, take note the pressure sensor has two hoses make sure to label which hose goes where they are not interchangeable, good luck.

Look for missing, loose or dislodged vacuum hoses, the heater is designed to fail in the defrost mode.

2003 crown victoria stays in defrost mode all the time

IF IT IS AN EX POLICE CAR LOOK IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR UP NEXT TO THE TRANS TUNNEL & YOU WILL SEE A VACCUM CONNECTOR WITH SEVERAL COLORS OF VACCUM HOSES, ALOT OF TIMES WHEN THEY REMOVE THE POLICE EQUIPMENT THEY WILL SOME HOW OR FOR SOME REASON PULL THAT JUNCTION APART ,JUST ANOTHER IDEA TO LOOK FOR THAT I HAVE RAN INTO ALOT IN EX POLICE CARS.

Transmission won'y shift into higher gears

It could be a bad vacuum hose or a bad solenoid. Check fluid condition and level first. A Chilton or Haynes repair guide will tell you what you need to know about placement of hoses and solenoid.
