I believe these units require that the key and switch be matched to the ECU, so you may have to have the dealer reprogram the ECU, or use the ECU from the donor vehicle.

2007 Saturn Vue steering wheel is locked and when key is in the ignintion will not turn over.

steering locked engine running not? , not told that key fact.
the key must turn, jiggling steering can help the key too turn.
we do not know what turn over means, the word turns has zero meaning .(accurate)
the starter turns, the crank shaft spins and turns and the engine turns and starts and runs and stays running this good serial event
or the KEY is stuck and key will not turn OVER from OFF TO , RUN and to START,

some call turns over as runs. 3 ways to get the mean wrong

so learn to say I can crank it ok but the engine fails to start and run.
I guess (wild) the starter is DEAD< silent, clicks or chatters.>?
that it> no GRRRRRRGRRRRR sound from a happy starter motor?

starter dead or not, is question 1./

Key won't turn in ignition

The list of possible causes includes the key, the lock cylinder, the steering wheel lock, and other things.
Have you tried another key ?

I replaced the ignition lock cylinder in my 92 cabriolet and I turned the key and it started first swing, then I was putting the steering wheel covers back on and it just turned off... When I try to turn...

If it's an automatic check fuse #15 wether it's a stick or automatic you should have power at the red & black wire coming out of your ignition switch when you turn key to start postion and power at the red wire going into switch at all times. if no power coming oit on the red/black wire you need an ignition switch. if there is power coming out of switch try putting car in nuetral (for auto trans). if still nothing you'll need to check for power at small wire going to starter when key is turned to start. if has power then need starter if no power you'll need to check starter interlock relay.

Key won't turn in ignition

On many vehicles, the key locks the steering wheel. If the wheel is turned, it can keep the key from turning. While trying to turn the key, push the steering wheel hard to the right and if that doesn't work, push the steering wheel hard to the left.

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

My ignition will not turn, the steering is locked also. I had a previous problem where when you put the key in the car would not crank, turn over or anything. Then after a while it would just crank up.

The previous problem sounds like it was probably the starter motor playing up but may of been related to your current problem. The ignition barrel sometimes locks at the same time as the steering and you have to move the steering wheel that little bit of movement back and forward whilst turning the key to unlock them. If this does not work then it may be a problem with the ignition barrel which may need replacing. The other 2 things it could be is the starter relay or a fuse.
