SOURCE: ac circulating button on ac panel needs to be held

Have you tried replacing the a/c button? Perhaps the switch is worn from constant use, it is a 15 year old car. Maybe the contacts are worn on the switch, or corrosion if you live in an area with high humidity. It would be a fairly inexpensive place to start, if no success, go to a qualified a/c specialist and get a free estimate/ check before dishing out your hard earned money.

SOURCE: Which car button is for the defroster in a 1995

Those two buttons are for where the air supply is coming from. The circulating arrow is for recirculating the air inside the car (recirc), and the straight arrow is for bringing fresh outside air into the cars climate control system.

Most often, the recirc button is used for air conditioning (it is easier to cool air that has already been cooled inside the car than the hot outside air) or for driving in dusty or smelly areas (i.e: my cars inside air smells better than the outside air right now!)

The slider selects the defroster. Slide it all the way to the right.

Keep the outside air button selected for using your defrosters. If you have recirc selected and have been driving for a while, if anybody suddenly cracks a window, then the all the windows (including the windshield) in entire car will fog up!!!!

SOURCE: the battery in my 1998 Honda CRV works fine. Had a problem with the key sticking, now the key turns in the ignition but won't catch to start the car. Not sure what to do

Sounds like the ignition switch is worn out(or the linkage from the lock cylinder to the switch has come loose or something like that)

Check your coolant level when engine cold, low level coolant does not circulate very well at idle and will cause poor heating,at higher RPM water pump turns faster to help circulate.

2001 lincoln ls v6 engine overheats when air condition is on?

replace your thermostat and check the waterpump. The ac "pulls" heat out of the air in the car thereby making it cooler, at the expense of making your coolant heat up even quicker than normal. Try this to see what's going on.. Open the radiator cap, start the engine and wait until the car gets up to operating temperature. You should be able to see the water circulating through the radiator...if the fan comes on, and the water isn't moving, then replace the thermostat. If it still isn't moving after that, the water pump may be no good. Id bet on the thermostat. They're cheap and need to be replaced every so often. If the water is circulating and the fan never turns on, then you check the fan motor, relay, etc. There is also a temperature sensor located somewhere next to the thermostat. It's rare to have to replace that, but if it's faulty, then the fan won't turn on and thus overheating occurs. I am assuming here that if you drove your car up a hill without the ac on, it will overheat or get hotter than normal...So....go test your circulation first and let me know what you find. Oh yeah, when you do the circulation test, turn your heater in the car on full blast too...does it get hot inside the car?

Hi,my 1995 bmw 316i only blows cold air.even when the temp control is full at red it blows ice cold air, thanks.rod

check hot water is circulating through heater rad by feeling the inlet and outlet pipes as they come thru the bulkhead if ok it sounds like there is a control panel prob, if hot water isnt circulating make sure cooling system is bled properly, and you could try backflushing the system.

My 2001 SLK-230 when I turn off the ignition key, the air circulation in the car continues to blow air until my battery dies.....

Sounds like there is a relay that is stuck, so the connects are still made and the fan keep going even though the car is off. Look for the fan/HVAC relay. I do not have this vehical but there is a juction box or relay box under the dash of in the engine compartment. Remove/replace the relay.
If your car has a water leak moisture can cause the problem.

My truck only blows heat through foot when blower turned on

it doesnt sound like a vacuum problem to me. it sounds like your switch in the dash has gone bad. if it was a vacuum it would only affect you selecting which vents you want the air to come out of.
