Why wont my yukon stay running?

Has anyone checked base fuel pressure with a gauge ?

IF you can keep it running with starting fluid my friend, but wont keep running otherwise, it's evident now that you have a fuel delivery problem. Like your out of gas in the tank. Well, you know there's gas in the tank, so apparently the fuel pump is malfunctioning and not pumping the gas from the tank. First check ALL fuses. Fuel pump fuse may not be marked as that and could be on the same fuse as the wipers or something else. That's why you check all fuses with a test light. It may not be blown, just not making good contact. Or it could be the ground connection on the tank is corroded and not making good enough contact.

Could be a bad fuel pump or bad TPS. Throttle Position Sensor. Does the check engine light comes on ?

The car is either not getting gas or not getting spark. It could be a weak battery, bad spark plugs or wires, bad coil pack/distributor, clogged fuel filter or spark plugs, or a defective fuel pump. These are the most common causes of this problem and and except the fuel pump and sometime fuel filter are relatively easy to replace yourself. Good luck and happy hunting!

i have an 03 yukon and i just replaced the fuel pump and it ran for 2 hours then it just died on the highway. it turns over but will not start. whats wrong with it???

yes you should be able to hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds once the key is turned to the on pos. check to make sure you have spark. if you do try having someone spray air intake or carb cleaner into intake manifold while you crank. If the truck starts right up for a second (or stays running as you keep spraying) Id say you have a bad fuel pump and id change the sending unit also. (First check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay) GMC and Chevy are nororiously known for having bad fuel pump/sending unit problems. I have prob changed over 60 myself.

Change the crankshaft sencer.

your getting too much air in chamber on igintion probly cause by a faulty intake and or a faulty tps (throttle positioning sensor) sounds like intake is sucking more air that fuel which is giving a bad air fuel mix in chamber also try checking your mass air could be faulty as well

Put some lucas fuel system cleaner in the fuel tank check the plugs and wires and check the air filter and see if there is a bad smell like rotten eggs when you first start it. does it use a lot of gas
