1993 Oldsmobile Cutless won't start

Starts fine. After driven somewhere and let sit for 20 or more minutes it won;t start. No cranking, no noise at all. Battery is new, starter is new, ignition switch is new. After 4 or 5 minutes it starts. It doesn't do it all the time. It seems to happen after the outside temp goes up into the high 80's;s or 90's;s. Any ideas?

If problem with wiring circuit somewhere, replacing parts won't fix it. if starter motor refuses to crank, did you try cranking in neutral? Is this an automatic tranny?

When problem is ongoing do the dash lites work? Do any of your electricals work?

Is the Service Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light illuminated on the instrument panel? If so, then have someone pull the codes and post them back here. Autozone will do this for you at no cost.Caution: don't purchase any parts after reading the codes on their recommendation! If no codes, then suspect either a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. There are other possibilities too, but these are primary. I have seen MANY bad crank sensors do exactly what your describe without setting a code.

You most likely have a bad fuel pump. Very common symptoms your describing, If your handy try squirting some brake cleaner into the throttle body when this happens. If it starts you now know what to do. Also be sure the battery terminals are clean. Voltage drops can cause a fuel pump not to run or run ineffeciently.

97 saturn sc2

I had the same problem with a 97 sc2. The fix for my car was the temp sensor that controls the extra fuel when engine is cold it didn't sense that the engine was warmed up and added extra fuel flooding the engine.
