Question about 2007 Ford Focus (3 Door) Hatchback

1 Answer

Installing new carburetor. How do I fix the paper gasket between the block and the carb.

The gaskets only line up one way with the engine block holes on most of the cars Ive worked on.Whichever way it lines up,if the lines are facing up or down theres the answer.Just make sure all of the water passages line up with the holes on the gaskets.

Hie guys I have changed a head gaske for Fordbuntam 1,3rowcam timing its ok but its boiling the pipes are geting filld with air nd they bcame hard they wnt to explod pls help

You have an air pocket in the engine block. Over fill the radiator overflow tank when the engine is cold. Run the engine until the engine thermostat opens then shut off the engine. Watch the level in the overflow tank to see if the engine draws coolant back into the engine. If it does, repeat the above steps a few times until the water level no longer draws coolant in when the engine is turned off. If this cannot be accomplished then the Thermostat is stuck closed or the bypass hose is plugged up. Pressure test the radiator cap too. It may not be releasing pressure correctly.

Rough idle and bucks while driving

1 Open the hood. Locate the fuel pump, mounted to the driver's side of the engine block, approximately midway between the front and rear of the motor.2 Loosen the fuel-line retention nuts on the pump with a tubing wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction. Carefully pull the fuel-inlet line and the outlet line from the fuel pump, being careful not to bend the metal lines. Have a rag handy for any fuel spills when removing the lines.3 Loosen and remove the two fuel-pump retaining bolts with a socket and ratchet. Place the bolts aside for installation of the replacement fuel pump.
4
Pull the pump straight out of the engine block and remove it from the engine bay. Scrape any gasket reside from the mounting surface of the engine block with a gasket scraper.
5
Place a new gasket over the mounting surface of the replacement fuel pump and hold it to the mounting surface on the engine block, lining up the mounting holes. Thread the original retaining bolts through the pump and into the engine block and tighten them.
6
Reconnect the fuel lines to the pump and tighten the fittings with a tubing wrench. Close the hood.

98 Deville Northstar V-8 - can you rebuild these engines - I've heard when you have overheating problems the motor is NG???

If you have overheating problems with this engine, don't assume it's the head gaskets.

Consider the following first.....

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

So before you decide to rebuild the engine, check this innocent looking little hose first.
I have solved many overheating problems on this engine and you will be surprised to know that it is very rarely due to a blown head gasket.

How do you replace the fuel pump in a 91 chrysler lebaron?

This is if you have a carbuerator:

Identification of the mechanical fuel pump inlet and outlet tubes

  1. Make sure the negative battery cable is disconnected. Have a metal cup handy to collect any fuel that may spill.
  2. Place a drain pan under the oil filter, then remove the filter with a strap wrench or equivalent.
  3. Disconnect the fuel and vapor lines, catching fuel that spills. Dispose of any spilled fuel safely.
  4. Plug the fuel lines to prevent leaks.
  5. Remove the attaching bolts and remove the fuel pump.
The fuel pump is NOT repairable. It must be replaced as a complete unit. Always use a new gasket when installing the pump and make certain that the gasket surfaces are clean.
To install:
  1. Clean the fuel pump and engine block gasket surfaces of all old gasket material or dirt.
  2. Position a new fuel pump gasket against the engine block, then situate the pump in position over the gasket with bolt holes lined up squarely. Install the retaining bolts and tighten them to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
  3. Connect the fuel lines to the pump (always start fuel line connections by hand-before using a wrench to tighten) and tighten the fittings to 175 inch lbs. (20 Nm).
  4. Clean the block surface, check the gasket, then install the oil filter, tightening it by hand only. If the gasket is damaged, replace the filter. Refer to Section 1 for the proper service procedures regarding oil filters.
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks. Check the crankcase oil level and refill as necessary.

I have zero oil to the top end in my 94 4.9 ive done oil pump main beerings oil pressure sensor and even tried over filling oil do i have some type of clog or plug in the oil galley

make sure you have the right head gasket and its oriented correctly .. you could have a clogged or blocked oil passageway thru the block and head/cam .. or a spun bearing on the head where the cam mounts. there is a hole in the bearing that must line up with the oil passagway ..

Want to change my timing belt on a 3.2 rodeo 1998 24v engine

The marks should be in the shape of "arrows" or indented "lines" located on the pulleys and the face of the head gasket. There are alike marks on the crankshaft pulley and the face of the engine block also. Make sure your #1 cylinder is at "Top Dead Center" before you line up the pulleys on the cylinder head and install the belt.
