the cable /fuse to alternator has nothing to do with the start and run function if the battery is charged up and in good condition ,sounds like the main battery cables have a bad contact/connection or battery is shot<follow battery cables and remove all points of connection in engine bay area clean contacts with sandpaper and resecure all connections 1 AT A TIME! to make sure none are swapped around by mistake ) on both earth cable/negative and the positive/power cables, make sure terminals on battery are clean and tight , try boosting/jump starting your battery with jumper cables connected from another cars battery positive to positive .........negative to negative and see if it starts ,i doubt the problem of starting up is the alternator unless battery is flat and not being charged by alternator ,by jump starting with another baterry will give you the answer once all baterry cables and connections are clean and secure
Use a battery wrench usually 8mm to open the terminal bolts. Undo both of
them and disconnect both the cables (positive and negative). Disconnect the
other end of the positive cable by following it along its length. Undo the bolt
that holds it. And now you can replace the cable. Follow the same process in
reverse for reinstallation.
if positive (red) cable, remove from battery, follow down cable and unhook any securing clips, remove the other end from starter. the ground cable will be attached to engine block, as well as body ground location near battery.
corroded at the battery I guess..or the entire wire..these come in certain lengths but I guess you will need about 4 ft or longer it goes from the battery positive (red cable) all the way to the big top stud on the starter solenoid which is above the starter..black cable(negative) goes between the battery negative and the engine block either on the alternator top bracket or some metal spot toconnect to.. the starter has a secondary wire which will activate the starter with the key switch and it is usually a brown wire with an eye on the end with a smaller stud nut to connect to the solenoid..good luck

The battery hold down bracket and fasteners

Positive battery cable fist and then the negative cable
Are you standing in the store trying to figure this out? I do it all the time, so now I write it down before I go shopping. The battery cable in your car with the most stuff attached to it is the positive. Usually covered with a plastic cap so nothing will short against it. The positive side of the battery is marked with a red cap or a big plus sign, +,, Remember, red is hot,
A lot of cars have two cables on the positive post. Do you need to replace the cables or is the battery post clamp broken. You can buy a replacement post clamp if you have the type of cables that are bolted to the clamp. If you need the cable, a oem replacement from your dealer parts counter will match. You can get after market replacements, just look for one that matches your original as close as possible. The parts counter guy should be able to help.
Take off the negative cable first, then remove the battery with the positive cable attached and replace either positive cable end , or the whole positive cable.
Cable end, or the whole cable can be purchased from Autozone, or from any local car parts dealer.
To replace the battery cable , follow the cable to the point it is attached to the engine on one side, and to the interior electrical distribution center on the ote. There you will find a bolt holding the cable to engine, and a connector to electrical distribution center. Get more detailed info here.
