Sounds like ac compressor may be going bad. Try to confirm thus by using a long screw driver. Place the screw driver on the compressor and place the other to your ear. You should be able to use this to determine exactly where the noise is coming from. Obviously be cautious around the moving parts of the engine.

Testimonial: "no,its not the a/c compressor cause i just replaced it and the noise comes when the car is in motion.a/c is fine.its a pinging noise that only sounds when im taking off.also it sounds louder when i turn on the a/c which is making the engine work harder.if you have some other idea, please let me know, thanks"

Toyota Corolla SW 1.4 VVT-i E12, 2004. Buzzing noise coming from the engine bay when accelerating on gear.

Hi there,

The sound you hear, is it a whining, popping, grinding, scraping or rattling sound?
If you drive a manual transmission vehicle and notice a grinding noise, it can indicate the clutch gear is no longer disengaging correctly.

you should definitely get it checked out. It's probably just a belt. If it breaks while you're driving you could be stranded.

This is normal for a 210K Toyota Corolla. What you are hearing is the sound made by the power steering pump. Check fluid level and fill as needed. Some noise in the instances you are mentioning is normal.
