We did not change the fuses, it was done before I purchased the car. Thanks for the answers. I am hoping my electrician can use this information to help me with this issue. He says this is a fire hazzard.

Your "electrician" needs only to put a
volt-OHM-meter on the "ohm" setting to see if the "BRIGHTNESS CONTROL"... is functional.

Getting out the dash is covered in the various videos... I prefer the soft plastic tools... over a PIE-SERVER...
    (But I'm very old fashioned...
(& like pies too... have a look).

You said the bulbs were checked. Did he not check the power wire from the fuse to the lights. You did not say the fuse was blown. Just double. ( have to agree with the others, bad idea, especially on such small wires) You may want to rethink using your electrician. No electrician that I know will increase the size of the fuse or breaker without the proper size wire to take the load. cars, homes or industrial electricians. I've done all three. To much liability.

My electrician did not change the fuses, he discovered the change when he checked them out. He told me it was a fire hazard. Thanks for your comments, I am hoping it can be changed back and repaired properly.

Put the fuses back...
been there... shouldn't have done that.

Hello Barbara Boggs,

A couple of careers in third tier advanced electronic...
I cannot stress WHAT a BAD IDEA upping
the FUSE past engineered capacity is...

Trust me... my personal experience from the same
"STUNT" was to fry an entire wiring harness, start a
fire and get a second degree burn in the process...

(OK... truth was I shorted over (right on past) the fuse
(absolutely KNEW where the fault was when I finished)).

(((In the middle of all that soot))).

That what they call "experience" (aka: scars).
Didn't seem all that clever... at the time...
(44 years later it sounded like an idea

It is either the Driver Multiplex Control Unit ... a direct feed back from the "Dash Light Brightness Controller"...

If you do NOT have the Factory+WORKSHOP+repair books go to BBB Industries (URL below, registration required). They have your "instrument" lights liste there... No relevant Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs).

Hope this helps.

I recently got my (Honda Odyssey 2006) oil changed by a non Honda tech and now i need the service maintainence signal -code A14 reset so that i can be notified when the next oil change is due.

  • Lets get started. Place the key in the ignition and turn as if to start your minivan - but do not actually start your Odyssey.

  • 2) Locate and click the black odometer button located near the bottom of the instrument panel until "Oil Life" along with a percentage value appears.
  • 3) Release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for ten (10) seconds.
  • 4) Once again, release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for five (5) more seconds. Lets count: one Mississippi, two Mississippi, etc. all the way to five.
  • 5) Your Honda Odyssey's display panel should read "Oil Life 100%." You are done!
