2000 nissan quest wont stay idling

William, No idle issue could be caused by a few things, vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure, poorly tuned engine, dirty injectors, failing EGR valve, etc.etc. Have a good tech. scan for trouble codes, diagnose and estimate repair.

Emergency brake pedal stuck won't release, there is no release pull, the pedal is push down and push down again to release won't go down any farther to release! stuck on the side of the road right now

Start the vehicle, and while pushing down on the break put the vehicle in reverse and gently use accelerator to go back an inch or four. If that doesn't work continue to rock the car back and forth until the ebrake cuts loose

No.2 and 3 are misfiring. did a tune up and engine runs but dies when put to drive

might be the idle air control valve, without it functioning the engine wont be getting air into the cylinders and not run unless the gas pedal is depressed

You have a mechanical bind. Disconnect the main linkage and work it all by hand. Everything should be free and slopy. Aerosol carb cleaner will help, but only when the engine is not running.

the first thing I would start with is looking for vaccume leaks. be sure to check your EGR valve, then move to your MAP sensor. The next thing that it could be is a stopped up catylic converter

Had to replace ecu / ecm car stay now at low idle handler thinks throttle body issue also replaced spark plugs could

There are 3 things that must be done when replacing the ECM and all of these will cause the idle to be off as each of these procedures has to do with "teaching" the computer how to work with different sensors in order to run and idle correctly. The first would be the accelerator pedal released position learning procedure. Next would be the throttttle valve closed learning procedure and finally what's called an idle air volume learning procedure. The first 2 must be done even if the ECM was just disconnected. The last one must be done if the ECM was replaced and if you do the last one the first 2 must be done first. Nissan s are very detailed in their systems. If certain things are not done your computer/ECM just doesn't know what to do. Did the person replacing your ECM due these procedures ? It is much easier to do these with the proper diagnostic equipment but it is possible to be done without it. If you have any questions on how to do these, feel free to comment on here or email me directly at [email protected] and I will be happy to try and walk you through it.

Open Gas Cap and no pressure is released.

That is correct, the vent system should prevent the build up of pressure in the gas tank.
