Juan, Oil could be leaking from a lot of different location, places to start looking are oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, timing cover/crank seal, oil pan gasket, etc. Engine may have to be washed down to locate leak. Have a good tech. scan vehicle for trouble codes, diagnose why car dose not run and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

A 94 toyota camrey that had engine rebuild in 2013 and sat a while. there is a oil leak only when the car is running and is coming from the passenger side. Any insight would be greatly appreceated

Clean the engine off really thoroughly. Then monitor it closely looking for the leak as you drive over the next day or so. Oil usually leaks from the valve cover gasket or front main seal on that side of the engine.

Oil leak ouring out when engine is running . no leak when not running. while facing the frony of car its on left side or passenger side of engine. what do you think.

Hello,

This means there is leak somewhere. One or more worn out oil seal is the cause of the problem.

The engine has a lot oil seals which prevents oil from leaking.

First, you need to look under the car, to get the exact spot of the leakage.

Use a touch light so that you can see clearly. Clean under the engine that is stained with oil with a rag and observe where the oil is coming out from. So, when there is a fresh leak, you can get the exact spot. If there is no more oil in the car, put some.....

You said there is a card board under your engine; remove the card board to see clearing where the leaking is coming from.

Also, you asked if the engine has to come out; yes, the engine will come out. Though it might not be the whole engine. Part or the whole engine will come out, depending on where the leak is coming from. The leak is inside the engine, this is why is has to come out.

When you get the spot, you will have to bring out that part of the engine. Get a oil seal kit and do the replacement. This is no going to a easy task because it require a lot of man power. So you can call a friend to assist you.

But if this task is difficult for you, you might call a mechanic........

Below is what the oil seal and it replacement kit looks like;

Have oil leak not heavy, but it leaks any answer were it could be coming from..

Valve Covers, Head Gaskets, Oil Pan Seal and a number of other spots. You'll need to clean the motor with Gunk Engine cleaner and then look for the largest build ups of oil and crud to get a better idea where it is.

I checked my oil level cause the car said so,put a qt. in it then went to work and came bck home and said level is low cheched it and it was a qt. low. What cause this.

Hi!
That's a lot of oil loss, And its not normal or maybe when you put the oil in maybe it needed 2 Qt then you put one and it still needed one or you might be leaking oil. Did you notice any leaks under your car when you park home ? Check for leaks because that's a lot of oil and the car wont burn that much from work to home, Is there any smoke coming from the tail pipe ?

Oil leak under driver side front

First thing i would do is degrease the whole engine, with oil leaks there hard to detect when the engine is very dirty, after you clean the engine and its free of all oil take it for a short drive when you get back home inspect the whole engine on the driver side and see where the fresh oil is coming from remember oil leaks downward and blows rearward when your driving so a leak on the valve cover in the front of the engine could eventually look like an oil pan leak after its been leaking for awhile if you still cant detect where the oil is coming from go to an autoparts store and ask them for detection dye, its a dye that you add to you engine oil and its used to detect leaks use a black light and then you can be very sure where the oil is coming from.

Leaking oil from bottom of engine. Looks like it is coming from a rectangular aluminum plate. Perhaps this is the bottom of the engine or oil pan.

There are several places it could be coming from.
The primary one is the oil pan. This would be the pan directly under the engine. It has the oil pan drain plug in it. If you are unfamiliar with the underside of automobiles you need to be sure you are not looking at the transmission oil pan. The first pan will be the oil pan. If you are mechanically inclined and have basic tools you can try and tighten up the oil pan bolts around the circumference of the pan.
Normally if the leak is from the pan it will appear wet all around the bottom. However the leak could also be from the rear main seal at the back of the engine. This can leak down to the pan and appear to come from the oil pan. Most of the time a leak from this will be in one spot of the pan, leaving the front section dry.
The other place is from the valve covers. You can check this by look under the hood at the side of the engine. If it's wet along the sides, that might be where it's from.

The only way you are going to know for sure is to get under it and look for yourself or take it somewhere to have looked at. You should have time to do this as long as you maintain the oil level in the engine.
I hope this helps.

Oil leak passenger side 300 turbo sedan, some on front passenger side wheel. Never lost oil pressure, but dipstick showed very little oil in crankcase on immediate after-run check. Have not started...

Add about 2.5-quarts of new engine oil to the engine.
Remove the passenger-side wheel, and support the car on jack-stands.
Start the engine and look for oil leak.
Chances are leaks are coming from failed oil-pan gasket or the drain-plug.
The head-cover gasket could be failing as well..
