Well I think I know WHY nobody can match the paint. The code you have presented is the body assembly number. The 'FB' refers to the body being build in Flint Michigan, then I believe the numbers afterwards are the assembly number.

Regardless of all that, there should be a body plate about the size of a credit card (I take it this is where you came up with the number to begin with).

Just below where it says 'Body' it should say 'Paint'. Just to the right of that is the actual paint code.

the paint code is on the compliance plate or id plate on the fire wall, inner guard or next to the radiator

Paint code should be shown on Car, a plate either under the hood , or by either front door main upright beam

Usually its written on the drivers door plate, near your VIN.

Open the trunk and look at the back of the spare tire cover and see if the codes are there

Body shop class taught me to get the paint right, go to the local paint supplier for Autobody shops.
A place like PPG will have a paint sample book to look up the color code that VW used for that year. It's the best way to get the paint right.

You should be able to find a supplier in the Yellow Pages under Autobody Supplies.

All Ford vehicles have the paint code located on the drivers side door jamb. Open the door and look on the lower section of the sticker that has the production date and vin number.
