P0335 & P1336 are Crankshaft Position Sensor. Located between the motor and transmission depending on the make, liter, year.

DTC P1336 Crankshaft Position (CKP) System Variation Not Learned
The crankshaft position system variation learning feature is used to calculate reference period errors caused by slight tolerance variations in the crankshaft, and the crankshaft position sensors. The calculated error allows the PCM to accurately compensate for reference period variations. This enhances the ability of the PCM to detect misfire events over a wider range of engine speed and load.

The PCM stores the crankshaft position system variation values after a learn procedure has been performed. DTC 1336 set indicates that the crankshaft position system variation values have not been stored in the PCM and the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure must be performed. The learn procedure is required after the following service procedures have been performed, regardless of whether or not DTC P1336 is set:

    ā€¢ PCM replacement.

    ā€¢ PCM reprogramming.

    ā€¢ Engine replacement.

    ā€¢ Crankshaft replacement.

    ā€¢ Crankshaft position sensor replacement.

ā€¢ Any engine repair that disturbs crankshaft to crankshaft position sensor relationship.

    Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn
Caution: Before performing the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learning Procedure always set the vehicle parking brake and block the drive wheels in order to prevent personal injury. Release the throttle immediately when the engine starts to decelerate in order to eliminate over revving the engine. Once the learn procedure is completed, the control module will return engine control to the operator and the engine will respond to the throttle position.

    Set the parking brake.
    Block the drive wheels.
    Ensure the hood is closed.
With the scan tool, monitor for DTCs. If a DTC is set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type before proceeding.
Start the engine and allow engine coolant temperature to reach at least 70Ā°C (158Ā°F).
    Turn OFF the ignition.
Select and enable the crankshaft position variation learn procedure with the scan tool.
    Start the vehicle.
Apply and hold the service brake pedal firmly.
Ensure the transaxle is in park.
Increase accelerator pedal position until the fuel cutoff is reached at 5150 RPM. Immediately release the accelerator pedal after fuel cutoff is reached.
The crankshaft position system variation compensating values are learned when the RPM decreases back to idle. If the procedure terminates.

Observe DTC status for DTC P1336.
If the scan tool indicates that DTC P1336 ran and passed, the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure is complete. If the scan tool indicates DTC P1336 failed or not ran, check for other DTCs. If no DTCs other than P1336 are set, repeat the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure as necessary.

Code reader reads 1283 manufacturer control

must be an OBD2 car, p1283 (your reader or autozoned readers)
P0 is USA federal standard codes.
P1 are factory (this car, this makers ) private codes.
what engine, never post , with no engine options,
if you dont kown what you are driving, then do a vin search on line
or post vin, or look under hood of car (USA) look up, see white sticker
there, it does show what engine is in the car.

2.4L or 3.7L engines. or diesel.

my online source, shows no 1283 only 1281,
but no engine stated. if diesel it has its own set of jeep codes, very unique.

first find out what you are driving.
the FSM explaines, the P0, P1 and P2 code reasons.

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram half ton 2wd with a 4.7 liter the codes that are showing are p0-300, po-302, p0-308, and p0-2098. The truck is running terrible, can you help? Thanks, Mike

for these codes.

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

P0 421= Catalytic Converter(s) Below normal flow
P0 455= Evap system leak .. Gas Cap or Carbon cannister or possibly evap lines
P0 123=Drive cycle Incomplete ( no Biggy )
P0506= Idle air control motor..
Doesnt sound like that big of a deal. at our shop.., we'd replace the converter(s) Check the gas Cap for the evap code.. And replace the Idle control motor. The code P0123 should be cleared By ODB2 at that point and should be good to go.. Lemmie know.. Thanks
