Have electrical issues on a 2004 mazda 3.

Began one day at getting new brakes. as the mechanic drove it in the shop and parked it all of sudden the horn goes off and wont turn off the headlights are flashing its going hay wire all over. the guy said he pulled the relay off and it stopped. he said its the after market car alarm? so from interior lights not working , horn, back lights headlights stay on no blinkers, i honk the horn and the wipers go on and headlights flash brake light stays ontimes the blinkers wont work. once i turned the high beams on and the blinkers worked then they dont one time my gears woulkdnt move so i used a small screw driver to get gears moving then i saw blown fuse i replaced it and the gears moved i took the fuse off gears dont move...so either no back lights or use the screw driver, no fog lights, and one day i just took the battery out for about 3 hours and i start the car and all back to normal....few days later the Lights Out show starts again. so i had to but a new battery a few months ago and a few weeks later is dead. that went on for a few weeks. and now its start with no jump needed. is there a way to just disconnected the Viper alarm or is it more than just pulling the wire. i have read lots of others having similar issues and went to dealer and cost them about 150 they didnt quite say what was the problem

I would check every single fuse in the car. Blown fuses can cause weird issues like this. While the initial issue with the mechanic does sound like an alarm problem....the rest does not unless the shop that installed it really butchered the job.

Testimonial: "ive done that and no luck but ill recheck them again. maybe i missed one. i bought this car preowned and this just issue started a year ago. i appreciate your response"

Wifes 2004 Nissan Maxima SE has issues, where should I start looking or common electrical shorts in system?

common electrical shorts in system? No common problems , no silver bullet's . Taking the vehicle to a auto part store is your big mistake . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. That has a factory or professional scan tool that can read DTC'S in the BCM - body control module . An others etc.. Shifter not moving from park to drive , shift interlock system , shift lock control unit . Auto part store's can not read these code's .
You have no idea the electronic's your dealing with .

I have just replaced all the discs and pads on my 2004 mazda 3, but the handbrake is very loose, does this require to me manualy adjusted. Thanks Murray

YES, if brakes are ok! then adjust the e-brake. heres how, Start the vehicle and press down and release the brakes four times. Turn off the engine. Remove the hooks from the center console and lift off the cover. The center console is located in the inside front of the car between the driver's and the passenger's seats. Adjust the nut under the console by tightening it with pliers.

Lift up the parking brake handle one click. Turn the engine on and look at the control panel. You should see the parking brake light. release parking brake and raise rear to make sure the wheels turn freely. forward and backwards. good-day !

it sounds like a shift lock solinoid ....this prevents the car from being shifted out of park when ur foot is not on the brake....u will have to bring this to a repair shop since the faulty part is located inside the paneling where ur shifter handle is

2004 mazda mpv. suddenly unable to shift from park into any gear. what happened?

Probable culprit would be the electric solenoid that releases the gear shift linkage when you apply the brake pedal. Since it's electric, a dead battery will cause the same result. Check to see if your brake lights are working. If not try replacing your brake light switch as this also gets power to the above mentioned solenoid.

This is a safety feature to prevent children from accidentally putting a car in gear.

Good luck!

What does it take to repair a parking brake on a Mazda MPV for 2004. Is there such a thing as a brake shoe for the emergency or parking brake?

If this is an automatic, like I think it is, you don't need parking brake.
But if you still want to fix, the parking brake uses the rear brakes through a cable. The cable might be rusted or broken. This is the most common rpoblem.

Scraping noise in rear of 2000 Toyota Rav4 AWD

just wanted to stop to offer some tips. I just put in new brakes on last night. I too had the same problem. The brakes were fine, but I replaced them anyway. The drum seem fine, and my emergency cable was a bit loose too. What you can try is hiting the ebrake while going in reverse or in drive. It may help. If not, adjust the ebrake cable will be needed, it not too hard to do. It should be by the rear tires towards the center.
