Engine idle revs high when in park or nuetrol. When driving ckek engine light is on off intermittinlly, a loss of power.

Always check for trouble codes when the check engine light turns on during engine running. After repairs are made, a scanner can be used to erase the codes.

It sounds like a fuel problem, so you would need to have the fuel pressure tested. This will verify the fuel pump and fuel filter are not the problem if the pressure is correct.

This could be the fuel relay as well. to check the pump/filter you can get a fuel pressure tester from OReilly or somewhere like that. They will let you used it free of charge.

Check the fuel pump output. Some will work but not have enough output for the instances you describe. Find a place that can test the fuel pump pressure.

Saturn cuts off when trying to use the a/c

It could be more than one problem.
The cooling fan could be running because the temp sensor is sending the wrong signal to the computer.
The ac compressor or clutch could be bad causing a heavy load on the belt and the engine.
I would unplug the compressor clutch and see if the engine still bogs down with the ac engaged.

My car has been running great wen driving but every now and then it jus turns of while driving no warning doesnt bog in and out jus cuts out. then wont start again if u leave it to sit for few hours then...

Change the capacitor inside your distributer, then all should be okay, we all forget this small item until it gives problems it's probably never been changed since vehicle was new. Hope this helps Best wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

First you need to check your fuel pressure with engine running you should have 9-13 psi if you don't replace fuel pump.

There is a good chance your fuel pump or ignition module went out... Without more info, its hard to tell.

With the engine off, Look down into the carburetor and move the throttle. If you don't see a healthy squirt of fuel. the accelerator pump has failed. The carb may also have deposits in the fuel passageways and may need an overhaul including a good soak in carb cleaning solution.

33 years old could be the problem. I am sure many things have been changed on it. But the constant is the electrical/wiring system, Most likely shorted. Vacuum probably isn't right either.

The "check engine" light is on to tell you that there is a trouble code stored in your truck's computer. Most parts stores will read the codes for you for free. Get that done, and you will know what part to replace.
