It is located under the drivers seat, bolted to the floor, be very careful of the thick yellow wire. thats the signal wire to set off the air bag. Also be sure to disconnect the trucks battery when messing around with electronics, and make sure you touch your truck as in ground your self before you install the new computer as static from your body can fry a new computer

I have a 2005 chevy silverado , service passenger air bag light came on.what could be the problem ?

This could be a couple of things.
1. The sensor in the seat is not working any longer and needs replaced.
2. The airbag itself is not working.
When you turn on the key, the body control module checks all the devices and has found a problem with one of them. This is a dealer only service item because it involves the air bag. It is not going to be cheap if it is the airbag itself.

2005 Silverado air bag light

The first thing you need to know is that there are lots of reasons for the light to come on, and each has its own fault code. So what must be done now is to have the systems control module scanned for the fault code that turned on the light when it was detected.

Chevy silverado 2006 lights "service air bag"

First of all you need to get this problem fixed ASAP. While the airbag light is illuminated, your SDM (Sensing and Diagnostic Module aka: the brain of your airbag system) shuts of power to the airbags. In which, if you are in an accident your airbags will not deploy while this light is illuminated. You need to take your vehicle to a GM dealership. A Tech 2 scantool is needed to retrieve the code from the SDM. Hopefully it won't be a costly repair, but is something that defineatly needs to be corrected soon. Good luck and hope all works well.
