Sorry I can't say precisely where it is. Blower motor resistors get hot and so they are usually positioned close to the motor and placed where they receive a strong flow of cooling air. Sometimes they are made easily accessible and sometimes quite a bit of dismantling is needed and sometimes contortions are needed when the resistor is buried under the dash.

Replaced blower motor in my 2001 kia sportage ex, fan only works on high. Any suggestions?

It could be the blower motor resistor, the high position feeds full 12 volt power directly to the blower motor. All lower settings route through the blower motor resistor. It is usually located under the passenger side dash, not far from the blower motor. Two screws secure it to the heater box.

I have a 2000 sportage. The heater fan does not

It may be the blower motor, or it may be the blower resistor. Check for power at the blower motor. If power present with system on and blower has good ground, motor bad. If no power check blower resistor in air box prior to blower motor. If power on input side but nothing coming out to blower change resistor.

2001 kia sportage location a/c blower resistor

it is next to the blower fan up under the passengers side, I think it has 3 or 4 wires on the plug, just unscrew the 2 screws and disconnect the plug with the wires on it, www.kiatechinfo.com is a great place to get info on kia's, hope this helps, you need to know why the resister is going bad, this means a short somewhere, if the blower shorta out then the resister will get over heated, check the switch you ajust fan speed with to see if it is working right.

2001 kia sportage blower motor resister

Rule of thumb...unless you get a better answer:  look for a couple of wires on a small plate that is in the airflow of the fan on the heater/ac unit.  The resistor pack is always air cooled by the fan.
