do you have hubcaps?? remove that side one and take it for a run,, if this model is front wheel drive it could be the cv joints,, if so have them checked
Good Evening, this is something I run across alot and mainly it tends to be the hubcaps. And I would first off try to remove the hubcap first an drive it and see if that is the issue, if you still have a rattling noise then investigate further maybe a sway bar link or such. But always look at the obvious first, usually it is something minor that can be overlooked. Take your lug wrench and loosen all the plastic caps and once you have them all loose the hubcap will come off. Hope this helps. Thanks, Joey
I think you should check brake calipers and brake pads. The suspension is in constant motion and the shock dampening for the body is suppose to isolate the body.
There are compounds like "Brake Quiet" which is a rubberized paste that is to be applied between the pads and caliper. You may need new brake hardware which will tighten the pads and calipers to the car.
Check your heatshields on the exhaust system. Gravel can get sandwiched between them and rattle like crazy. Check them COLD and hit them with your hand and listen for rattles. Sometimes hubcaps can pickup stones, but if you work on the brakes you will be taking the hubcaps off anyway. Good Luck on this repair.
Get the brake calipers checked, the slides are probably seized/sticking causing drag.Check the rear hubcap for stones/debris/looseness.There is also a brake snow/debris guard which tends to rust.
HI
Determine how the hubcaps are attached. Some simply push on, others have a small screw holding them on, and a few won't come off unless you take the lug nuts off.
Depending on what type of hubcap your car has, either unscrew the screw that holds the hubcap on, or with a large screwdriver or a pry bar, pry the hubcap off the wheel.
place a new hubcap on the wheel.
Strike the edge lightly with a rubber mallet and work around the rim of the hubcap with the mallet until it's seated, or screw the screw back in.
Repeat for each hubcap.
