In the engine compartment there will be a VIN plate. It is an aluminium plate 3-4 inches long and 2-3 inches wide it is riveted to the bodywork. All the details should be on this, however if they are not on here they will be stamped on a flat spot (machined surface) on the engine casing, usually near the cylinder head.
