The central locking system on my 1993 vw microbus locks and unlocks continuosly

hi, will you please help. l have a 1997 2,6i vw microbus it was running fine. l drove and back and parked it in the garage, after 3 days l tried to start it but it only tries to start and wont catch the idling. it immediately cuts off as soon as it tries to idle. the alarm work, as well as the central locking.

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

You will need to replace the driver door switch. You can try to pick a switch up from the dealer or a local car wrecker (i.e. Pick-n-Pull). It will involve learning to take apart the door trim panel.

Hi I'm a VW commercial Vehicle Master Technician.The Blue/Red wire is corroded from the Convenience Control Unit under the drivers seat (R/H/D).Remove seat and base follow loom approx 8" under carpet,feel where there is a crimp join in loom.Open up loom and replace corroded connector.

I would check with a local VW Dealership. They can give you the part number for the central locking pump for your car.

vw only make one pump/compressor for the central locking.....(.a vw dealer will give you the part number if you tell them the chassis no for your car)

reset the central locking system by locking car with key in drivers door and hold key over for 30 secs.then pressing and holding down unlock button on keypad OR unlock door with key and hold key over 30secs (windows may go down, thats okay,some cars are fitted with auto windows)then press and hold lock button on keypad.making sure that in both cases you know the keyfob battery is in good nick....should reset system

My friend had this problem. The automatic locks armature sticks sometimes replace them. Two check for a short in the door wiring.

if you unlock the doors via key in drivers door do all the doors unlock . if they do you may have a siezed locking unit
