I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2 its saying its overheating but no smoke under hood also blowing cold air then it finally blows hot air and temp gage goes down

I would start at thermostat. It could be it is sticking and taking a long time to open. If it isn't a bad stat then I'd say there is a good chance it could be a head issue. either the gasket or the head itself. Have you overheated it lately? Also make sure your cooling fan is running after thermostat opens up. If you want to check the heads have a compression test done to make sure. Hope this helps.

How do you change the thermostat in a 2007 pontiac g5

The G 5 has electric power steering, there is no power steering fluid. Try getting your strut bearings replaced, they may be sized, making it hard to turn the wheel.

My 2000 pontiac grand prix, the Engine temp heats up when at idle, returns to normal temp when at high speed and now it is almost at the overheating level whether i'm ideling or driving, Is it the...

The initial problem points to the radiator fan(s) not running at any road speed. Check the fan(s) for noise-free turning by hand. Check fan fuse and relay (swap with similar relay). Turn on the air conditioner which should immediately turn on the fan(s). Overheating while driving could very well be the thermostat--you will need to drain the cooling system before replacing the unit. Blow out the radiator core with compressed air from the engine side to remove bugs and other debris first. Hope this helps!
