SOURCE: Remove Oil maintenance required message on 2008 Toyota Highlander

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

Hope this helps! Thanks for choosing FixYa!

Injector Cleaner is not in any owners manual

It is a few onces in many gallons of gas & does nothing

Check for codes & have the car diagnosed --as with any and
all issue from the past on any vehicle

If you over fill it you can get fuel into the evap canister

Why is the Emission system needs service indicator light on? What does it need.

The most common problem is a leak in the evap system which vents the fumes in the gas tank to the vapor canister.
Sometimes its a loose or faulty gas cap.

Engine light

The engine light comes on to alert you to the fact a malfunction has occurred in the engine control system or emission system, you now must have the system tested for the fault code that is stored when the light was turned on by the computer control module.

How I reset the 'check engine light' on 2009 mercury mariner?

There are 2 ways to do this. The first is to disconnect the battery and let it sit for 60 seconds. The other is to use a scan tool to clear the codes. The light will come back if you haven't corrected the problem though. I would recommend going to an autozone and getting them to scan and find the code for you. You may need to replace a component in your emissions system. I hope this helps.

How to do I reset the maintenance service light on my 2007 Chevy Trail Blazer

there is no light for emissions testing on this vehicle. there is a ses light that can come on, indicationg a problem with the engine or transmission electronic system. this will require a scan tool to pull trouble codes. there is another light called oil life monitoring that needs to be reset after oil changes, which I suspect is what you are seeing. here is a picture of the light and the instructions for resetting.,

The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where you change your oil prior to a CHANGE OIL SOON message being turned on, reset the system.
After changing the engine oil, the system must be reset as follows:
  1. Turn the ignition to RUN, with the engine OFF.
  2. Press the information and reset buttons on the Driver Information Center (DIC) at the same time to enter the personalization menu.
  3. Press the information button to scroll through the available personalization menu modes until the DIC display shows OIL LIFE RESET.
  4. Press and hold the reset button until the DIC display shows ACKNOWLEDGED. This will tell you the system has been reset.
  5. Turn the key to LOCK.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes back on when you start the vehicle, the Engine Oil Life System has not reset. Repeat the reset procedure.
