Van will not fire turn key off and on several times and it starts

possible problem is a weak fuel pump. The fuel pump relay will engage for about five seconds each time the key is turned to the start position. If the fuel pump is weak then there is nor enough pressure to fire the injectors until the key is recycled several times. You should connect a fuel pressure tester to the fuel system to see if that is what is happening. Try turning the key on and off several times waiting 3 or 4 seconds between turns and then all the way to start.

With ignition key off .. Hold right button down (2 buttons within the instrument cluster) Turn on ignition.. but not engine.. Watch for countdown till zero.. Release button.. All done.

did you put a new dist or use if use it probly bad ,ck when it cut off see if it firing .

1. Turn the ignition to ON do not start.Engine OFF dash board lights ON.
2. Press and release the reset button in the driver information center (DIC) until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET messages appear on the DIC display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps sound. This confirms the OIL LIFE system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to lock. If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the ENGINE OIL LIFE system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
Alternate Method
1. Turn the ignition key to ON with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. Several beeps sound. This confirms the oil life system has been reset.
3. Turn the ignition key OFF.
4. If the CHANGE/OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
I use the second method, it is more universal and it works for Chevy Venture too.

what about the ignition igniter module?? has it been replpaced, id u check for spark? do u smell gas? fuel pump may be sticking.

Turning the ignition key's on and off is leading me to a dirty fuel filter or a bad fuel pump sending unit. Pumping the accelerator peddle does nothing but keep your figure since the engine is fuel injected. Check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve, you should have 60PSI to 65PSI when the key's are at the run position and should drop around 5PSI when the engine is running. There is also a valve at the fuel pump to energize the fuel line and when that goes bad you lose you prim fuel pressure to start the engine. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

definately ignition switch gone bad, replace them. go from there.
