SOURCE: mercedes 300sl intermittently runs rough

Change your MAS Mass Air Sensor this will exhibit the problem you have if it is dirty. You can try cleaning it, yet it is normally easier just to replace it

SOURCE: 1998 dodge ram pickup 318 eng.

If the engine seems to run fine over 1450 RPM maybe there is a vacuum hose leaking or EGR valve is slightly stuck open. Any help from the OBD II trouble codes? Or is there simply no MIL and no stored information in the OBD II computer read at the local parts store through the connector by the drivers knee?

SOURCE: hi i have a 93 nissan pulsar n14 i started it the

this cars are known for bad distributor caps, also clean the throttle body.also how about the coil, thats not arching is it?.another the to look at would be the oxygen sensor it may be running rich or lean, take a look at these things and see what you have there, also check the injectors resistance, specs are 1-2 ohms. one more thing to look at is the egr valve, make sure its not opening @ idle.good luck. easy to see if the clutch is causing this problem and that by have car in neutral and see if it runs rough, this way if clutch isnt completly disengaging it wont matter in neutral.

SOURCE: runs real rough up to 1500 rpm and dont hardly idle

Change your fuel filter for starters. I'm assuming you keep up with tune ups so plugs and wires wouldn't be the issue. If you haven't changed your PCV valve in a while I woud change it, or at least clean it. That plays with all sorts of systems. And finally, the most irritating one. the EGR valve. They can cause all sorts of problems so the symptoms can be all over the place. Aside from killing your performance, they also confound mechanics by behaving like other problems. Good luck.

Have you had your coolant temperature sensor changed? It might be not telling the ECU to go into phase lock when it is cold out.

Have just replaced plugs and leads and the engine light keeps coming on for 1 to 3 mins and when its warm and i go to start it again the engine light comes on and runs a little rough what could this be?

It must be from the rough idling. Check the spark plug gaps and the lead wires if they have good continuity. Check your car manual for the proper gap for the spark plugs. Set it with the use of a spark plug gauge.

Try plug wires, that's about all you haven't replaced. Actually if you have an ohm meter you can test them - anything over 6k ohms per foot - REPLACE them. Also run a good fuel system cleaner through it and stay away from cheap gas.

Make sure the HT leads are secure. They might be popping off, causing it to not fire on one cylinder. I always change the plugs and leads at the same time to keep them the same age. HT leads break down rapidly and need regular replacement.

Try inspecting your crank shaft sensor lead wire or replacing your crank shaft sensor. The ICM and also give you the same issues your having, but start with the crank shaft sensor first.

Car idles and runs rough intermittently after engne is warm.

it could be plugs and or high tention leads, causing missfire best way to check these is better at night open the hood of the car, run engine and see if you are getting a loose spark, that will be your high tention leads it could also be that when they get hot, they expand and start reducing the power of the spark to the plugs if you find that these will need replacing, to test spark plugs, get a pair of pliers and preff a pair of rubber gloves, pull the leads off each plug one at a time, if there is no change on one you pull of, that plug needs replacing, continue till you have checked all of them, hope this helps

Bucking and misfiring

you may be getting water on your computer leads. something is getting wet. check all spark plug wires. take off 1 spark plug wire at a time as engine is running replace if no change in sound. if you have a bad plug or wire this will be the best way to find out. should be an easy fix.
