Just to clarify, cranking is the same thing as turning over. If it cranks but does not start, you need to check the fuel pressure with a gauge before and after you try to start it. The pump relay allows the pump to run for 3 seconds before the engine cranks to boost pressure in the line. If the check valve in the pump is bad the pressure will drop off when the engine is not running.
Sounds to me like a fuel filter. When was the last time it was changed?Because if a car starts and runs till you give it gas under load then dies it is a fuel problem.Start by chaging fuel filter and if problem still persists then next thing to check is fuel pump.
You might try a crank sensor, most of the time if you pull it out you may see a crack in it. It's between the top of the oil pan an the transmission, good luck.
most likley a fuel pump issue. The only way to know for sure is hook up a pressure gauge and when you have symptoms check the pressure. If you spray some brake cleaner or quick start when it doesnt start and it does start then this is an indication of a failed fuel pump or fuel pump relay. If it still does not start when you spray then you have an ignition issue like a crank sensor or ignition module.
