Hi Michelle , what make model an year vehicle ? On some vehicles this is function is controlled by a door module .

In order to control outside rearview mirror operations, as well as other door functions, the front door modules must be powered up. For this purpose, battery voltage is supplied from the rear fuse block, through separate circuits, to each front door module. Each front door module is separately grounded through a ground stake. The front door modules also use these power and ground supplies to drive the mirror motors, and to provide power and ground to window and lock switches and door lock actuators. In addition, the driver door module (DDM) uses these power and ground supplies to power the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) and integral mirror control switches.

Sorry thought this info showed ... it's a chrysler grand voyager 2003 2.5 CRD. The wing mirror control is on the dash board and wired into the the wing mirror with a single plug, this plug connector also has the connection in for the power fold, which incidentally works fine

Does you voyager have memory seats/mirrors .

You can go tohttp://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html,free wiring diagrams ,click on wiring diagrams ,then enter your vehicle info . make model an year an engine > then under system click on interior & driver Amenity then under subsystem click power mirrors . You will need to test the circuit ,do have a volt meter ? do you know how to use a volt meter . You replaced the switch ,right ? At the switch check for B+ voltage at the lite green with red stripe wire. Also check for a good ground on the black with lite green stripe wire .If both right an left mirrors do not work you have a power or ground issue. The folding part of the mirrors has separate circuit ,it must if it works ! There are videos on youtube on basic electrical trouble shooting ,an how to read a wiring diagram .

Want to replace your wing mirrors with aftermarket ones ? Had someone in a shopping mall car park break ...
Remove the screws that hold the mirror and remove it from the door. Attach the new mirror. Reconnect the electrical connector and make sure you test the new mirror before putting the parts back into place. Reverse the entire procedure to reassemble the door trim panel.

How to replace rear view mirror

Instructions
1

Disconnect your negative battery cable, if your Ford Focus has power side mirrors. If it has manual side mirrors, disconnecting the battery is unnecessary.

2

Pry off the wing mirror's inside sail panel (shaped like a triangle). Insert a trim panel tool between the door skin and the plastic panel to pry it off.

3

Carefully pull the sail panel away, minding the wiring if the mirror is power-operated. Unplug the electrical harness and set the panel aside.

4

Open the door and hold the outside part of the wing mirror steady. Remove the mounting bolt with a socket wrench, and then remove the mirror screw with a Phillips screwdriver (the mirror bolt and screw is visible with the panel removed).

5

Pull the wing mirror assembly from its mount (from the outside). Insert the replacement mirror assembly in place; tighten the bolt and the screw.

6

Attach the wiring connection to the replacement mirror. Position the sail panel in place and push it against the door to snap it back on.

Wing mirrors on 06 plate Golf TDi

Has it ocurred to you that your wing mirrors are not the electrically folding type, most are not. The switch on the drivers arm rest for adjusting the mirrrors will have a separate position for folding if yours fold. The resistance to fold by hand is very stiff as you have to overcome the spring tension, even when folded by hand they do not fold as flat as you might think.
I purchased a 2006 Golf 5 GT Tdi last year it had £5000 worth of factory fitted options but did not have electrically folding door mirrors - hope this helps.
