Here is how it works !
Liftgate Locking Operation
The lift gate will lock any time the vehicle is shifted out of park on vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and at vehicle speeds exceeding 5 kph with manual transmission. This happens in conjunction with auto door locks if enabled or independently of auto door locks if the feature is disabled. This ensures that the lift gate is locked anytime the vehicle is shifted out of park or when the vehicle is in motion.
The lift gate lock relay supply and coil sides receive a constant voltage through the battery voltage supply circuit and the ECC fuse. The normally closed contact is connected to ground and the control side is connected to the body control module (BCM). A lock function will occur when a door lock switch activation, keyless entry lock transmission, auto door lock function or a lift gate lock function has been received by the BCM. The BCM will then ground the control side of the lift gate lock relay. This energizes the relay and allows voltage to be applied to the lift gate lock actuator lock control circuit. Since the other side of the lift gate lock actuator is connected to the normally closed contacts of the door unlock relay to ground, the lift gate will lock. When an unlock function occurs the BCM will ground the control side of the unlock relay and the rear doors and lift gate will unlock.
The BCM also runs diagnostics on the lift gate lock relay control circuit and will set DTC B3825 as current and also send a Class 2 message to the DIC. The DIC will display REPLACE LIFTGATE FUSE to inform the driver that a fault has been detected in the lift gate lock circuit and that the lift gate is not locked. Faults that will set the DTC and cause the DIC to display the message could be any of the following:
?€¢
An open ECC fuse

?€¢
An open or short to ground in the lift gate lock relay battery positive voltage circuit

?€¢
A faulty lift gate lock relay

?€¢
An open or short to ground in the lift gate lock relay control circuit

?€¢
A short to ground in the lift gate lock actuator lock control circuit

?€¢
A faulty BCM

Doors unlock on 2005 Chevy Taho but the rear hatch won't. It does not even click when you press button. It does not have a key acess. Is there a manuel opener?? Or a fuse. Even the glass hatch will not unlock.

SOURCE: hatch-back door will not open

I can say I have had the same problem, only the back doors and the rear hatch/glass won't open using keyless remote from them freezing this Winter.  The front two driver/passenger doors will unlock with keyless remote but none of the rear doors, hatch or glass.  Since I had to replace the stoplight bulbs in the rear with one not working and I don't need a ticket on Memorial Day weekend (need to replace 2 at the same time is wise according to any good mechanic), I had to get the rear hatch open to get to the lamp assembly and replace the bulbs.  My thinking was that since my two front locks were opening but no others and my keyless remotes are working, it has to be a fuse or relay that is not working!  So, I talked with a NAPA rep and he said the "Day running lights" relay can be a temporary fix to get the rear locks open to replace the bulbs.  I looked up in the owners manual where both relay's are located and removed the "Locked" relay and "Day running lights" relay and put the "Day running lights" into the same slot where the "Locked" relay was not operating and it worked!  I got the doors unlocked and replaced my stoplight bubs replaced.  Now, I have a new problem, my Tahoe won't start!!  I'm assuming the relay wasn't supposed to stay in the wrong slot when operating the vehicle because I started the truck, and it started and died-started and died-same and again.  I think the wrong fuse can be used to fix another problem like a fuse.  But, a fuse you can leave in and deal with one operation in the vehicle not working until you can replace the fuse later when you purchase it.  But, not a relay!  Now, I think the confused electronics cause another component (possibly the fuel pump relay) to burn out with the wrong relay in place of another when the vehicle operates.  I should have known but I was so glad to get the doors open after two months and it being Memorial Day weekend.  Now I have to find out what else is wrong so don't make that mistake to avoid the same predicament.  Better to get the relay ordered and replaced than to have this happen to you.

SOURCE: power door locks on a 2004 chevy tahoe don't work

The door locks on my 1999 tahoe stopped working and I checked the fuse, which was fine. The problem turned out to be that the fuse for my cigarette lighter was bad and for some reason it also must be working in order for the door locks to work. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again!

Look at the end of the dash and between the drivers side door for a second fuse panel. I think everything you mention works on one data bus. You can remove the button pad on the drivers door. Since it gets used all th3 time i# might have gone bad messing up the works.

1999 blazer Doors lock and unlock even when parked, help

Lock an unlock by them selves ? Door locks are computer controlled ,by the BCM - body control module .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Door Locks Circuit Description
The power door lock system includes the following components:
• The door lock actuators
• A door lock relay
• An door unlock relay
• A driver door unlock relay
• The door lock and side window switches
• The body control module (BCM)
• The endgate lock cylinder switch /liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility)
• The keyless entry, if equipped
The door lock and liftgate mechanisms may be controlled by the following switches:
• The door lock and side window switches
• The BCM
• The endgate lock cylinder switch / liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility)
• The keyless entry, if equipped
The following locking functions are included on the vehicle:
• All the doors unlock -- All the doors will unlock, including the endgate/liftgate, when any power door unlock switch is detected. The passenger doors lock directly by pressing the lock switches. The driver door unlocks by the BCM using a driver door unlock relay.
• All the doors lock -- All the doors will lock, including the endgate/liftgate, when any power door lock switch is activated. All the lock actuators will activate directly from the power door lock switch (external to the BCM).
• The end/lift gate lock switch -- All the doors will lock or unlock from the end/lift gate lock switch.
• The lockout prevention -- This function will prevent the doors from automatically locking if the keys have been left in the ignition and the power door lock switch is operated.
The motor is protected by a built-in electronic circuit breaker (ECB). If the motor is overloaded or voltage is applied for an excessive amount of time, the ECB internal resistance increases, essentially creating an open circuit. The resistance returns to normal only after voltage is removed from the circuit, thereby restoring circuit continuity.

You have a bad switch input to the BCM !

Why my venture chevy 2005 liftgate wont open?

Likely a bad lock actuator in the lift gate.

If you look carefully you will find a manual release for it in the back. (You will have to crawl back there.)

The liftgate lock relay supply and coil sides receive a constant voltage through the battery voltage supply circuit and the ECC fuse. The normally closed contact is connected to ground and the control side is connected to the body control module (BCM). The BCM also runs diagnostics on the liftgate lock relay control circuit and will set DTC B3825 as current and also send a Class 2 message to the DIC. The DIC will display REPLACE LIFTGATE FUSE to inform the driver that a fault has been detected in the liftgate lock circuit and that the liftgate is not locked. Faults that will set the DTC and cause the DIC to display the message could be any of the following

Have a 2002 chevy suburban, liftgate window will not open

Sounds like you have a wiring problem to your liftgate. Check the wires where they come out of the body, and go into the liftgate. If they are good, check fuses, or possibly a module.
