No water in oil did oil change anyway no change everything works as it should besides the noise the air filter was soaked tho and I had a minor exaust manifold leak prior oil pressure is fine just make a tapping/knocking noise can't put my finger on what it is
My guess is a bent rod caused by hydro locking a cylinder with water. I've seen it alot in mustangs and crown vics. Your water soaked air filter is a dead giveaway.
It may be that water was drawn through the air filter and into the combustion chamber. This used to be a problem on low-fronted cars which had a very low-down air filter.
When water- excess water - is drawn in via the air filter a hydraulic effect happens - the water is compressed by the piston(s) and causes things to 'lock up'. It's akin to having a piece of metal sitting on top of the piston ..
You won't find water in your oil system, but what may have happened is that the compressed water has damaged a valve or piston. Water in a cylinder can have the same effect as a piston hitting a valve.
You say you have a tapping/knocking noise. To most mechanics that would suggest something mechanical was amiss .. metal to metal contact or something bent/broken ..
Driving the car with a tapping/knocking noise will only make things worse. If you're not sure ... go and get a second opinion at a workshop
Testimonial: "Thank u I'll check it out we unplugged each plug wire one by one and no matter what cylinder you unplug it still makes the noise that's why we were confused because when u unplug it the piston stops an no matter which on u stop the noise stayed the same any ideas"
The valves are tapping.
