There are several monitors in your computer and whenever the computer is reset to turn off the check engine light, the monitors have to run a full cycle to show that they are good. Even though your check engine light might not be lit, the state will not pass emissions unless all drive cycles have been cleared. If you reset the check engine light, you might as well fix the error that caused it to light or you will not be able to pass the emission test. If there isn't an issue, you should be able to just drive for a couple of days for the cycles to complete.
Drive cycles can be done in about an hour. 15 minute intervals.
First at highways speeds. Second at 45 MPH. Third at 30 MPH. Fourth at stop and go traffic. So from the highway to the city. Or replicate it on country roads. Just a note. drive cycles don't really effect emissions. You may won't check state requirements, or take it to another shop. or ask another shop.
hi
generally the catalic converter get oily especially if the car is used
around the town the best thing to do from past experience is to drive the car down the motorway at 60mph. for good 3/4 hour at high revs
third gear if 4 gear motor you get the meaning this way you burn the oil
out because lots more heat is crated once this is done youshould pass the emission. happy driving
I think you mean drive cycle not complete.
Generally the van needs to be driven 50-100 miles at both city and highway speeds. The distance needs to start when the engine is at operating temp, and the speed needs to vary including stop and go city. It does not have to be all in one trip but the engine must be warmed up first.
