2002 CAMRY LE automatic transmission. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH P0500 CODE comes on intermittently. Can feel a small **** when speed hits 10 mph and then at 20 mph. Took to a service station and mechanic...

for the p0500, the solution:
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
i know this tool is helpful for your car.
Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly.
If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure wil depend on your make and model of vehicle.
If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.

Subaru 97 speed sensor trouble code p0500 not passing admissions.. what part to I buy and where is the sensor located?

There are actually two Vehicle Speed Sensors (VSS). I'm going to assume you have a 2.5 liter engine and an automatic transmission.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 (output shaft rotation sensor) is mounted to the extension case (from the outside of the case). The sensor outputs a pulse signal which is transmitted to the TCM where it is converted to vehicle speed.

The transfer clutch drum is connected directly to the rear wheel driving propeller shaft. Vehicle speed sensor 1 on the AWD model detects rear-wheel speed.

Vehicle Speed Sensor 2 provides vehicle road speed information to the ECM. The ECM uses this data to properly determine ignition and fuel delivery curves. The sensor consists of a reed switch and magnetic rotor turned by the speedometer cable.

One rotation of the magnetic rotor opens and closes the reed switch four times, producing a digital signal which is converted to vehicle speed by the ECM. The sensor operates whenever the vehicle is moving with ignition ON. As the transmission rotates, the speed sensor sends a pulsed on/off signal to the ECM.

The speedometer uses VSS 2 for it's signal.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

After replacing the clutch, I found out my speedometer not working, ABS light on, and brake light on, please tell me what would the problem be

Vehicle speed sensor was probably damaged when the clutch was replaced. Or maybe it wasn't plugged back in. The sensors are at the wheel hubs.

I took my 2006 pt cruiser / standard transmission in due to stick would no longer shift into gear. Mechanic says transmission issue sent to shop down the street that works on transmissions. 1800.00 later...

not really your problem
this is the result of faulty workmanship by the first" mechanic" you took it to so he is responsible to get your vehicle back to you better than it was when he got it
That is the whole purpose of the big bucks that you paid
In realty , the clutch was the problem and the transmission repair was probably not necessary
talk with the mechanic and if he gets upset , contact a lawyer

My speedometer on our 1993 Cadillac Allante only works about 15% of the time. Digital cluster dash set up. Any ideas on what the problem is.......? [email protected] Ray!

The Speed sensor found near the transmission was replaced. The part is not expensive, however the labor time & effort needed getting to and from the sensors location is the most difficult part of this solution. The digital speedometer seems to be working just fine now.

P0743 torque converter clutch circuit

If the converter clutch does not lock at all it may be a problem with the ECM, or some problem with the emissions or sensors have the ECM "out of loop". (in which case the "Check Engine" appears) If the converter clutch is hanging engaged, killing the engine at stops, that is more likely a problem with a solenoid valve in the transaxle. You will need to consult a manual covering the transaxle for the location of the solenoid.
