If this vehicle has an independent rear suspension /rear wheel drive then the click noise most likely will be from a failing cv joint of the axle shaft.

The problem could be a siezed C.V. joint on the front axle. If it doesn't flex as your driving the stiffness will be transmitted into the drivetrain. Hope this helps.

probably the CV on the axle. Much better than in transmission. Check boots on all 4 CV joints for tears Ithere is a CV on each end of both axles. If torn, replace axle.
