If it's just one light that went out most likely a bulb you will have to remove cluster to get to the bulb on the back side

I had the same problem in my 2001 Corolla. Removing the cluster was not a problem. Remove the two screws securing the 'bezel' around the cluster. You may need to use a small screwdriver then to gently pry the bezel out from the top and remove. Then remove three screws securing the instrument cluster and pull it out. Because newer cars have all electronic guages, there is no speedometer cable to make it difficult. Just pull it out, turn it over and twist the green bulb holders to get to the bulbs.

are all your instrument panel lights dim? i know this sounds silly but i had a person the other day who had the dimmer switch turned down. if it's not that there is a fuse for the instrument panel, looks like it should be a 7.5 amp fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box. it's very unlikely that all of those lamps would fail at the same time. hope that helps.

are you sure that your fuses are all good?because it's highly impossible for all off your dash lights and your heater/a/c light burn out at the same time.and yes it is controlled all together.make sure that your dimmer switch is not turned all the way down cause this will cause them to not work.i believe that the dashboard alone has either 3 or 4 bulbs so im pretty sure it has to be a fuse or your dimmer switch.please try these options first ok. hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

Actually it is not serious at all. You just need to adjust the dim level on the instrument panel lights. You should have a knob for that. Isn't it the one on the left side of the steering wheel.

you probably need to replace the bulbs in it if the one side went out first. there are probably 2 screws above the inside of the cluster that hold it in. remove the 2 screws and it should come right out. then there are tiny bulbs behind the cluster that can be replaced. you can find them usually at a good auto parts store like napa.

you need to buy two light bulbs from any parts store. I believe part number is 194 for the bulbs. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle by popping the bezel loose and removing retaining screws. Once screws are out remove the instrument panel and remove the bulbs and replace them.

Changing instrument panel light bulbs

You have to remove the entire cluster assembly to get to the bulbs, there is no other way, no room for this man's hand at the back.

There are no fuses for this they are hard wired in the panel to come on when the light switch is on. You will need to replace the instrument cluster.

Changing the bulbs can be a difficult task, involving the removal of some of the dash panel and such. Check the fuses as it is doubtful that all the bulbs have gone bad at once.
