My 95 grand cherokee sometimes cuts out when tank is low

My 95 grand cherokee sometimes cuts out when it gets below 1/2 tank of gas, it does this on a unregular basis, this last time it was after a 50 mile trip, it got bad enough I has to pull over, turned the jeep off then it ran fine for a mile or so and did it again, pulled over and killed , started it back up and drove the next 5 miles to home with no problems, it never has done this with a full tank, and it has done it before but not to the point of having to pull over, it just stumble abit under hard accelaration. any ideas?

94 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 bucks once in a while

It maybe bad gas or just water in the lines ! Try some dry gas ! And do not let your fuel get so low . Never less than 1/4 tank or you run the risk of burning up the fuel pump ! As the pump uses the fuel to cool it ! Check it out on you tube !

When i take the foot off the gas on my cherokee jeep 1997 it only sometimes cuts out and asks to check gauges, it has done it a few times at round abouts now, you only notice when you put the foot back on...

My 1995 jeep grand cherokee Laredo won't start, or

You might not believe this, but check your battery. Some of these vehicles have cut-outs when the battery level goes below a preset amount.
I work on Ford brands and on them, a low battery level will even disconnect the Alternator circuit and mess with the starter. Some even act up when the battery slightly dips below 12 volts.

Your antitheft can make your starter cut out. And If you think about it, all of the measurements to make the engine run are based on feedback of voltage and amperage. This is how the engine management system adjusts. If your prime source of power is low, then all of the following electrical readings will be low. Some may be too low to work.

Your fuelpump will hold pressure in a closed system for hours. The fuel pressure regulator will command the fuelpump to stop working if the fuel pressure is at maximum. Without responses from the other components and after satisfactory pressure, the fuelpump will turn off.

1993 Grand Cherokee won't stay running or turn over

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter to me, maybe look into the TPS: throttle positioning sensor. Good luck

We have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee limited 4 wheel drive. how do you know when the fuel pump is going bad?

you will notice that your vehicle acts like it is starving for fuel, and sometimes , the engine will even die, and then start back up, a lot of fuel pumps can be saved by people not driving their vehicles with a 1/4 or less amount of gas in the tank, because when the the tank gets very low, the fuel pump has to work harder to pump the gas, and even overheats when trying to pump the low amount of gas to the engine therefore resulting in the fuel pump going out.

95 jeep cherokee it wont stay running at red lights

Try a tank of supreme gas, plus a can of SEAFOAM in the gas tank. After running about a half of this tank out. Pull positive post off the battery for about 1-minute. This will reset computer, and it might clean up the fuel problems that you are having. If it keeps on, change the O2-sensor out and do the above steps again.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Service engine light soon on

A loose gas cap will sometimes trigger the service light to come on.  Since this appears to have happened on multiple occasions I can assume that this is not the problem but may be associated with it.  The level of gas in the tank affects the amount of atmospheric pressure in the tank. There are multiple things that could set off the light, one being a loose or defective gas cap, and the other is a fuel vapor return valve.  I'm not sure of the exact type of fuel system you have so I cant give a more exact answer.  If you wanted to give something a shot before bringing it into the shop, you can simply replace the gas cap first, a very cheap try.
