why would you want the stabilitrak disabled it a safety feature tied into your abs--brakes-- traction control --if disabled those and certain options may also be disabled like cruise control --remote start ---if your looking to temporarily to work on vehicle pull your abs fuse --
I have a 2008 model. I am assuming the stabilitrak button(on my SUV) located next to the geer shift is turning the stabilitrak system
on and off OK? If not maybe just this switch is bad?
Unfortunately my stabilitrak alarm indicator has started coming on
periodically too. Mine seems to get reset after driving it for some
time then stopping and restarting after several short trips. I'm not
sure if mine is a real issue if it goes away after a while of driving.
The last time my "check engine" light came on also. When the
traction control alarm went away, so did the check engine alarm.
Good luck.
Stabilitrak is a design that lets the ECU and the ABS system share information. If you step on the gas pedal and loose traction, the ABS tells the ECU that you have lost traction. The ECU calculates what it should do to help and usually will ignore your request for "more fuel" (when you step on the gas pedal) and will reduce the power to the transmission until the ABS system communicates that traction has returned. More than likely there is a failure in the ABS system. The problem may be intermittent right now but this will need to be repaired. If you have an ABS code reader please let me know what codes are stored. If not then you will need to send your car in for diagnostis and an estimate for repair, let me know if I can be of any more help, good luck.
Then you have a short that is not resolved, when the air bag light goes on it detected a low or open voltage then the light comes on,this is the same as for the TPMS (tire sensor) Same for the stability tract light, what are the fuse that blows open there is you indication of where the short is happening
Your vehicle is equipped with StabiliTrak, which combines antilock
brake, traction and stability control systems and helps the driver
maintain directional control of the vehicle in most driving conditions.
Traction control activates when the controller senses wheel spin.
StabiliTrak will selectively apply the brakes and reduce engine torque
to help regain traction.
Stability control activates when the controller senses a
discrepancy between your intended path and the direction the vehicle is
travelling. StabiliTrak selectively applies braking pressure at any one
of the vehicle's brakes to help guide the vehicle in the direction which
you are steering.
When you first start your vehicle and begin to drive away, the
system performs several diagnostic checks to insure there are no
problems. You may hear or feel the system working. This is normal and
does not mean there is a problem with your vehicle. If driving
conditions delay system initialization, the STABILITRAK NOT READY
message may be displayed. If this is the case, your vehicle does not
need servicing.
When the StabiliTrak system is both on and actively controlling the
stability of the vehicle, the StabiliTrak light will blink for the
duration of the event.
You may also feel or hear the system working. This is normal.
StabiliTrak will turn off automatically if a problem is detected in
the system. The StabiliTrak light will come on and SERVICE STABILITRAK
will be displayed on the DIC. For vehicles without a DIC, the
StabiliTrak light and the StabiliTrak service light will both come on.
If the SERVICE STABILITRAK message (or StabiliTrak service light) does
not clear itself after restarting the vehicle, you should see your
dealer for service.
{: ) A car swerving light on the instrument cluster is the StabiTrak indicator, sometimes called the traction control indicator. A wrench beside it tells it requires servicing.

When you open the hood of the the car have a buddy accelerate in park and listen for a vacuum leak this is the likely cause it sounds lik your loosing boos pressure. Also, get a tune up there maybe a list of problems. Hopefully it's not your transmission!
