Toyota prado electical issues when braking or indicating

The radio and clock sometimes resets when i brake or indicate. Also the headlight when driving at night always seem to momentarily dim. When i bought the car the previous owner had fitted a trailer electrical fittingIn New Zealand we fit these to power the trailer lights I am suspecting this could be the cause of the issue. Any Ideas how to rectify without spending big bucks?

SOURCE: my HJ75 landcruicer ute has an electical issue.

Almost certainly a bad earth in your left hand rear light somewhere.
Clean the earths up REALLY well, ( like silver shiny metal ) and put a new end on the wire to be sure.
You can test it by grounding one end of an extra wire on a really good contact point on the chassis and getting someone to hold the other end on the common earth contact for your rear left blinker, stop light, reverse light and tail light while you try it again.

Definitely not getting a proper earth somewhere.

I have also seen a whitish corrosion on the bottom of the bulb itself, and in it's socket, cause the exact same symptoms.

If there is evidence of water in the taillight lens, go for the bulbs and their sockets first. Clean, clean, clean.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help. Cleaned it all up and put a new wire on and it is working good as new."

Where is brake light switch 2005 prado

The brake light switch is attached to the underside of the brake pedal. You can twist and remove it then uncouple from its wiring harness.

Cruise turns off when we roll down the windows

Strange electrical problems can sometimes be attributed to a bad ignition switch. The battery should also be load tested, especially if it is more than 4 - 5 years old.

The hand brake light indicator on the dashboard on my Toyota Ipsum 2.0 SXM10 did not go off completely after I released the hand brake knob. The indicator only light dimly and sometime it go off completely...

Check the switch under the handbrake lever, it may be out of alignment or broken or it may have a wire shorting out which is causing the dash light to stay on.

Toyota camry 2200cc - 1998

Ahhh. I see. The yellow car with the lines coming out of the back. That symbol indicates that you have a burned out tail-lamp, or a burned out brake lamp. Turn the headlamps on, and check all of the rear lights. Check to see if any are burned out, or dim. The must ALL be of the same intensity. Then, have someone press the brake pedal, and check all of the brake lamps. Don't forget to check the center brake lamp, in the lower portion of the rear window. I'm pretty sure that you are going to find a burned out bulb. Hope this helps. Please get back to me on what you find. Thanks.
